Why can gusanos vote?

If I were president I'd make it so you'd have to be in the country 6 months out of the year to vote in an election, and you have to be in the country at the time of the election.

Fuck carving out random exceptions that can be abused via loophole. If you don't live in a country then the policies most likely don't affect you.

Look how many fascist turkish people live abroad but still vote for erdogan.

Yes, or better yet, ask why anyone should be able to vote for fascism.

I mean last time they voted for the good candidate and still got fascism, change will not come from the urns.

So how's Roberto going to be different than Pedro? Gonna do the same cycle again?

Pretty much, the military is still captured by the comprador elite.

That's the big question. How do you do what Castillo failed to do? Imo you use your seat to build mass organization by whatever means necessary. Pardon Castillo and send him out to be the man of the people raising up worker and peasant organizations. Be cautious in your work for a few months, no constituent assembly or anything, just simple socdem economics and good relationships with other South American leftists. Join ALBA, maybe. When you assess the balance of power is ready (and I think that only takes like a year), then you can for the constituent assembly. You do exactly what Castillo did that got him arrested, but with popular power and Bolivian inspiration, you don't let them arrest you.

This has been my take away from watching recent latam socialists too. Run the usual electoralist strategy but with a militant faction of collectivos to combat the inevitable coup. The failed coup on Evo really drove that home for me.

That said, idk if Roberto is on board with this strategy.
