It's the Toyota Corolla of pistols. Not that fancy. Not specialized. But darn dependable.

I'm British and would get a firearm if I was in the US. Can you explain what makes it dependable?
Like the other reply brought up, it is a well built design that has been around long enough to work most of the bugs out. But the 2 main things that make it dependable is it's a striker fired design. So instead of having an external hammer like most traditional designs, it's all internal, so there's less chance of it snagging on something or discharging from being hit (not really a problem on anything modern). And secondly, there's no "safety". There are interlocks that help prevent it from firing accidentally, but there is no lever or button that makes the pistol inoperable.
So that being said, if your use case is a pistol you can grab and fire with a minimal amount of fuss, it's very dependable for that.
That's really interesting thanks
They are very consistently built (good quality control) and their design has been slight modifications since the 80's, so there's no real kinks left to iron out, they are very reliable.
However, they have a very thick and squared off grip, which can make them harder to use for those with smaller hands. They are also known for having a lackluster squishy trigger that can make it harder to aim as accurately with until you get a feel for it.
Ahhhhh I see thanks
They still got that five minute waiting period?

The Corolla analogy is spot on
Is gun. Goes boom.
there are some gun related communities with folks that likely have better answers for the question.
But why Glock?
Because horse breeding is neat? Wait are we talking the horse masturbator or the gun? I always get the two mixed up talking about Glock.

i was gonna say all the dried horse semen improves grip.
No... It's ALL EVIL! Bwahaha!
Well it's a portable machine designed specifically to cause death and injury, and as they go, yes, it's a pretty decent machine designed to cause death and injury.
