You can use em dashes yourself β just find out how, use a few big words, and bedazzle your readers!
I used em dashes when SMS messages had 160 character limits to βreallyβ put emphasis on words.
I also use them in place of semicolons β I find it easier to read and doesn't remind people of English class.
It helps that I have been writing this way for a while. My MySpace had em dashes back when the smartest AI we had was IBM's Watson.
