Trickle down something I dunno I wasn't paying attention

In reality, the starving monkeys would kill the shit out of that monkey and take all his bananas to share with everyone else.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 3 points 5 hours ago

Based and monkey-pilled.

We shouldn't have invented weapons ☹️

[–] Zier@fedia.io 3 points 6 hours ago

Anything can be a weapon if you have enough imagination... including bananas.

A billionaire can't hold a million AK47s. A million people can though.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 2 points 5 hours ago

And it only takes a single bullet

Not yet. I think they're desperately working on it right now.

The population of the United States is over 300 million. If we lose to the robots that can't even load a dishwasher it's gonna be really embarrassing.

Never get involved in a land war in Asia is a known truism, thanks to the frigid Siberian winter and the mud season. Except there are plenty of historical examples of the Russian steppes being conquered, usually when there is a lot of internal strife between the factions there. A lot of the time they don't really get a long.

And so it is with the US. The people here are struggling to get organized, and I still point to the massive far-right propaganda machine that dominates social media and television viewership that is telling us that our marginalized groups are the cause of all their woes. I want to believe we're smartening up what with rising prices and illegal wars and the blatant corruption of the political and ownership classes. But much effort has gone into keeping the common white American really ignorant and stupid.

I think they're going to try to do it with a large human paramilitary force, such as with ICE, and with the help of the surveillance state. For now they're coming for the immigrants. Then the disabled. And then the protestors and then the Democrats.

I really hope we catch on before it's too late.

Don't worry! If only the other monkeys allow that one monkey to own and monopolise all the banana trees, eventually some of the bananas will come trickling down to them... in the form of ape piss.

Thank you for the insight, good Sir or Madam! I will not stick my head in the sand like an ostrich, but will henceforth use imagery that is in line with our modern understanding of biology.

Bananas rapidly devalue the longer they are held, cash stored in a bank or pretty much anywhere else increases in value

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

No, cash doesn't. That's the one benefit of inflation. It causes cash to lose its value over time. It encourages people to invest. But the wealthy don't horde cash, they horde ownership and I'm sure that's basically what you meant.

[–] ryannathans@aussie.zone 1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

That's what I said, bananas hoarded aren't being invested

[–] FlexibleToast@lemmy.world 0 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

cash stored in a bank or pretty much anywhere else increases in value

You quite literally said cash being hoarded increases in value.

[–] ryannathans@aussie.zone 1 points 7 hours ago

I literally said cash stored in a bank or pretty much anywhere else increases in value

Do you store your cash in a jar under your bed? That's pretty much the only place it doesn't accrue interest
