Thanks for the support yesterday. Today was better. Managed some grocery shopping and scored some good beef on sale so now I have mountains of yummy stew cooling ready for the freezer... Little steps.

Discovered work has made a serious security THING. Public video of areas that need three pass swipes and a physical key?? Fucking morons.

This is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard and it's fucking amazing

I never really explored the Radiohead thing. I will have to give them a whirl. My recent listening has been Propagandhi, Failure, and Herbie Hancock.

Try the albums Kid A and Amnesiac.

Dinner with Boyo's family last night was nice, including Boyo revealing he knows a surprising amount about bees and bee keeping. I've heard of a place that does like a "be a bee keeper for a day" kind of experience, but can't remember it and google is not giving me much help. Anyone got any leads?

Edit: Found it! Beekeeping Apprentice in Yarrambat!

More teams frustrations, this time as an outsider at Coffee Work. Need to login, then login again, then Teams asks you to login. Now you've lost access to everything for no reason

Farken hell it's cold, my frozen nips are gonna rip my jumper open lol

[โ€“] calhoon2005@aussie.zone 2 points 18 hours ago

I'm pretty sure I can hear the crowd in the Azteca from here...

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 2 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

What is the point of Teams?

I realised I left my thermos of coffee at work, so I messaged someone saying they can have it because it will go bad otherwise. Get in today and realise the message wasn't sent. This shitty program can't do the most basic thing for the most important of messages

[โ€“] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 2 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Teams was created specifically to torture office people into servitude to the almighty status indicator.

You can easily keep that dot green forever with a clip-on guitar tuner on the TAB key of your work laptop

[โ€“] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 2 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Now that's a new one! I know someone who bought a usb "mouse jiggler"

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 2 points 15 hours ago

Sometimes places can pick up on those. TBH, those same places could probably pick up on the TAB key being pressed down for hours at a time as well.

Brrrr itโ€™s very chilly out there

I thought it was very British of me going out to the bins in my jim jams, but of course I saw a dog walker out there in a padded winter jacket and still in shorts. I think wearing shorts no matter the weather may be one of the keystone Australian cultural markers.

Knees have no thermostats, or pain receptors. Well known fact.

[โ€“] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 3 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

I wish my knees didnโ€™t have pain receptors!

watching the early trains

there are more people catching the 5am train than the 6 , more people coming home at that time than leaving
