She will win. By removing Platner, the opposition has split the dem vote. AIPAC and fascism will win again.

Yep she will win due to Platner being accused of rape having to drop out. She going win with a land slide while Democrats scramble over who to replace him with.

Split the dem vote between whom?

The new "progressive" replacement, write-in, and no-shows.

Those were all possibilities with Platner.

I am skeptical about the smears. Instead of prosecution in a judicial court, they left it to the court of public opinion at the last possible moment. The evidence was unsatisfactory at best, and nonexistent hearsay if we're being objective.

The evidence is pretty damning, actually. What do you think those women gained by accusing him of rape? Because I'll tell you right now, they are kinda getting dogged on by random strangers calling them liars like you.

But also... Graham Platner is just some fucking guy. He isn't anything special, and the fact that he has been accused of rape should be concerning to you.

You can find better representation than him, dude.

Like I said, court of public opinion. If it's legit, it should have been litigated. It felt too staged. But, you know... Can't say that.

He's not my guy. I'm just saying the accusations were not timely.

[–] webadict@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

How were they untimely? I'm pretty sure untimely would have been after he couldn't drop out. It is so weird to say these are untimely, like it changes the situation. He raped multiple women multiple times, and that is a logical conclusion you can come to by listening to these women's stories, which is why he definitely needed to drop out.

Not everything needs to be legally adjudicated to be true, nor to be believed. He can try to clear his name, but he kinda has had like 50 chances, and this sorta breaks the camel's back, you know?

And you're wrong. Defend your stance better or change it. Obviously.

Mainers* will allow her to seat.
They are clearly the majority, and still want play demagoguery in a Nazi state.

I am legitimately disappointed how political illiterate Amekos are.
