Still the dumbest timeline

"Although Loomer may have changed her mind about Russia's invasion, her bigoted views have not budged.

"One thing I really love about Ukraine is I haven't seen a single Muslim here," she posted on Saturday. "It's so refreshing."

But in the interview, she bemoaned how influential podcasters can spread misinformation."

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 42 points 6 days ago (1 children)

You can't see religion. She means she hasn't seen any brown people.

[–] MisterQueue@lemmy.world 24 points 6 days ago

Oh I'm Pretty sure she thinks she can see religion but also yes

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 6 days ago (2 children)

But in the interview, she bemoaned how influential podcasters can spread misinformation."

She's so close to getting that she's one of them.

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 2 points 5 days ago

She knows full well what she's doing

[–] RustySharp@programming.dev 2 points 6 days ago

I'm surprised there isn't an active selfawarewolves community in the 'verse. This timeline is so full of them.

[–] supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz 5 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

How much of a pathetic snowflake do you have to be to be exhausted from simply being in the vicinity of muslims?

I mean yeah it is dumb and bigoted... but it is also just weak.

[–] cavitationfetishist2@quokk.au 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Muslims can be pretty hard to live around. Since they built one near me I haven't been able to sleep, and there's been a lot of brown-outs. The dog's been going crazy. Water bill went up too.

I think I missed an implied /s here, my bad.

edit...or are you being serious? I can't tell with your moderation history.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

4h late to post the same quote. Ay yi yi.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 23 points 6 days ago

Who cares what this trashcan Jigsaw lookalike dumpster fire loser thinks.

She's just doing something to renew her declining influence.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 18 points 6 days ago (1 children)

She saw the way the wind is blowing and decided to jump off the fascist ship while she still can

That's why

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I hate saying this about her, but that's smart

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago

As smart as rats running off the sinking ship, so the value of that smartness is ... Let's call it relative.

[–] mufkin@lemmy.zip 17 points 6 days ago

From a bomb shelter in Kyiv, Laura Loomer is still a cunt.

[–] CaliforniaSober@lemmy.ca 14 points 6 days ago

“Turns out people were suffering but my head was so far up my ass I couldn’t give a shit. Then I realized midterms were coming up and, let’s face it, my party is fucking terrible… so I went to Ukraine and the suffering almost happened to meeeee!!! Can you believe it? I think Ukrainians are good now. Put me on tv.”

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 5 points 5 days ago

How many articles are they going to write on this? Who gives a shit what a genocidal Zionist thinks? She has no credibility anyway.

[–] phar@lemmy.world 11 points 6 days ago

Does anyone care what Laura Loomer says? That's a serious question, is she still popular in the dumb-o-sphere and has influence, or is she washed up?

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

Trump appears to be tracking Loomer's trip, sharing video of her conversation with Zelenskyy on social media.

"Very good!!!" he wrote on Thursday evening.

Great stuff but...

"One thing I really love about Ukraine is I haven't seen a single Muslim here," she posted on Saturday. "It's so refreshing."

Haha what the FUCK?!

She looks mid 50s after all that Jigsaw ass plastic surgery...

At least it's learningish

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

Who listens to this jigsaw looking freak?

[–] lIlIlIlIlIlIl@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Her new face is kicking her ass all day every day. It’s just so, so bad.

[–] cavitationfetishist2@quokk.au 2 points 6 days ago

I'd say you shouldn't make fun of people for shit they didn't choose but

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

She must have decided that her career needs a face turn.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

Username checks out. Somehow.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 5 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Loomer blamed her indoctrination on getting banned by American social media platforms, leading her to try Telegram, where Russian media is widely shared.

Much as I hate this walling shit stain, she isn't wrong here. All this quick "let's ban controversial or problematic users" led to the obvious outcome that these users went elsewhere, and elsewhere were propaganda places where they got indoctrinated even worse than they already were to begin with

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 10 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

Don't worry she's wrong af.

Storm front went online in 1990 and Liberty Net was created in 1984.

Also she's a grown ass woman who is old enough (born 1993) to know that pre-social media verifiable sources exist.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

For a sec, I thought you were making a the boys reference and it threw me off.

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

I haven't seen the boys but if it's influenced online vernacular than maybe I am? If I did it was unintentional.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

There's a character that was a "supe" back in the day, married to a Nazi scientist that gave her the powers. Then when the allies won, she came to America and came out as "liberty". Scandal hit, and she disappeared for decades, but came back, changing her identity to "storm front".

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

I see what they did there.

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 7 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

Banning an extremist doesn't make that person less extreme. What it DOES do is close up the pipeline.

If you kick extremists off of large scale platforms, they won't have large scale platforms to do their outreach and recruiting. Reducing their reach to obscure forums doesn't make them dissapear, but it means random people who might lean that wat are much less likely to find them.

Stormfront will always be full of people who agree with stormfront. Bur their user base is a tiny fraction of what Twitter has. A nazi on twitter can reach billions of people and create more nazis. A nazi on Stormfront is just preaching to the choir.

Also, for the record, Laura got kicked off of everywhere because she was already an extremist.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago

Yeah that is a nice theory only it goes directly against what we've seen after years of doing this

We banned all the people we didn't like (and be honest now, most bans are not because of extremism, they're because of opinions that slightly misalign with the moderators) and now we have people who were slightly more right than we liked going to other places where they can talk, and these places will be much more right than that person is, and the person becomes more radicalized

You didn't close a pipeline, you actually created one

Wasn't she banned from those social media platform and a bunch of other apps because she was a hateful and racist piece of shit already?

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 6 days ago

In a push to make these racist pos valid, we try to make her seem normal. This world is shit!

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Loomer's turn around here is an example of "What if MAGA used 1% of their brain?".
