It didn't shift, as it is present throughout having started in 2003 but the Battlestar Galactica reboot was basically the War on Terror in space. It took what Enterprise did and dialled it up to 11. Its batshit looking back on it now.

I don't think it is supposed to be a 1 for 1 comparison with Israel and Palestine. It's more general for refugees and victims of America's MIC there is alot of them.
My only complaint is that Dante is kind of sidelined in this show and he didn't kill enough demons. Also Lady is so different from her game portrayal they might as well have made her an original character.
The new Devil May Cry series message is basically that the MIC is worse than literal demons from hell and I respect that.
