They definitely had a human zoo at the cringe International Colonial and Export Exhibition in 1883, and possibly as late as 1928 but those sources are all in dutch

I really miss winter

And I miss when summer wasn't just 4 month of forest fire smoke

Orkz have some of the best characters, there's that other warboss that keeps getting revived by Khorne since he's so much fun to fight

[–] FALGSConaut@hexbear.net 3 points 4 days ago

Oh yea I've definitely seen that before, yea the Margaret Thatcher connection is one of those things that I know isn't true but it's funnier if it is

[–] FALGSConaut@hexbear.net 3 points 4 days ago

True, he's got the accent down but not the attitude, a real ork would be thrilled to be fighting every day

If they ever removed comedy from da orkz I'd lose all interest in 40k. Da Boyz are the best part of 40k by far (hair squigs, need I say more?), nothing else even comes close

Liberals have no political theory so the choice between Empire and Rebels is merely aesthetic

Lib adventurism is a great bit

'e looks like a 'umie but talks like an Ork boy

I love the Cain books for exactly that reason, sure they can be formulaic/repetitive but they're one of the last bastions of comedy in 40k. Everything else just takes itself too seriously

They had some fun with the British naming back in the day, they once introduced a sunlight-starved isolated backwater planet that's culturally and technologically stagnant that they named Birmingham

Sly Marbo is one of my favorite bits of 40k, he's the perfect mix of "badassness" and comedy, something games workshop has really lost sight of. He's just an 80s action flick sprinkled with Chuck Norris memes, no need to "justify the lore" or "make it make sense".

Losing the comical side of things takes away what made 40k special instead of just another fascism justifying generic scifi but with gothic architecture

I need a new vpn and don't know which one I should get, any recs?

I open up my textbook to read chapter one and what do I find? Is this the great replacement theory within the first 10 pages? Sure looks like it!

Also bonus advocating for countering "radical islamist groups" by "military and ideological means"

I haven't gotten a good feel for this prof but we are not off to a good start

Edit: Looks like I pirated the wrong text or something, I found the one my prof wants us to use and it's very different. Not sure why the two editions are so dramatically different but I'm still keeping an eye out for any fash shit

beanis I'm just looking to level up my bean game beyond just frying up some onion, garlic, maybe some other veggies, tossing the beans in and cooking them. Vegan recipes are preferred since I'm trying to reduce the amount of animal products I'm eating but any and all tasty bean recipes are welcome! cool-bean

Title says it all, I have a friend willing to go on runs with me and get into a habit of being more active! It was a mix of running & walking today but I think I did pretty good for being a couch potato!
