I've been hearing about plastic eating bacteria for literal decades now. As far as I am concerned this is another Big Oil psyop to distract people from finally banning single use plastics.

It also needs to be noted that a lot of "conservatism" is straight up fascism, mask on and mask off. If you undermine social programs while shouting about how you are protecting kids and families, you are conserving jack shit.

At this point businesses have two options:

• Bite the bullet, terminate lease agreements and pay the fines associated, then advertise yourself as a full remote company and attract global talent.
• Be penny wise and pound foolish, stomp your feet, slowly hemmorage the best employees until you're left with people whose only talent is playing office politics.

We'll see how this plays out in the long run, it wouldn't be out of character for the owner class to start needling their pet politicians to devalue currency even more to put those pesky workers in their place.

Let's face it, these people are run-of-the mill internet trolls who are working with a politics angle. Their only cause is distruption of online communities for shits and giggles. Treat them like any other troll - block on user level, defederate on instance level.

While I dislike bloat, I also avoid distros that have been minimalized to the point of uselessness. Minimalist distros are great for old and embedded computers, but regular desktop ones should not require you to install 90% of the OS after booting it.

Ban single use plastics already.

I don't get Ska hatred. It's fast, punky dance music for alternative clubs, you have to go out of your way to be exposed to it. It's not like its being continually replayed on "Billboard's top 20 hits" radio stations.

The fact that a state government used a commercial service to inform the public is absurd, and this was bound to happen eventually.
