ICE wants to hire contractors to monitor social media for threats. Those who criticize the agency could be pulled into the dragnet.

Trump said Thursday that he wants to root out “anti-Christian bias” in the U.S., announcing that he was forming a task force led by Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate the “targeting” of Christians.

Trump said the task force would be directed to “immediately halt all forms of anti-Christian targeting and discrimination within the federal government, including at the DOJ, which was absolutely terrible, the IRS, the FBI — terrible — and other agencies.”

And Trump took a victory lap over his administration’s early efforts to roll back diversity, equity and inclusion programs and to limit transgender participation in women’s sports.

“I don’t know if you’ve been watching, but we got rid of woke over the last two weeks,” he said. “Woke is gone-zo.”

“I told them [Ukraine] that I want the equivalent like $500B worth of rare earth. And they've essentially agreed to do that so at least we don’t feel stupid,” Trump said.

“Otherwise, we're stupid. I said to them we have to — 'we have to get something. We can’t continue to pay this money,'” he added.

“The Americans helped the most, and therefore the Americans should earn the most,” Zelenskyy said Friday in an interview with Reuters.

President Donald Trump on Monday signed an executive order directing the Department of Justice to pause enforcing a nearly half-century-old law that prohibits American companies and foreign firms from bribing officials of foreign governments to obtain or retain business.

"It sounds good, but it hurts the country," Trump said of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, as he signed the order at the White House.

"Many, many deals are unable to be made because nobody wants to do business, because they don't want to feel like every time they pick up the phone, they're going to jail," Trump said, referring to U.S. anti-corruption efforts.

Officials in the Brdy region of the Czech Republic were at an impasse.

Despite securing more than one million dollars’ worth of funding for a new dam to address water issues, the project had stalled after seven years of planning because the necessary building permits for such a structure couldn’t be acquired.

But then, everyone woke up one morning in January to find that the job had been completed—by eight beavers. For free.

Amazon is facing its second workers’ union vote in as many months as laborers at a warehouse in suburban Raleigh, North Carolina, decide this week whether they wish to collectively bargain with the retail giant.

Workers at the five-year-old warehouse in the city of Garner will vote through Friday to join or reject the upstart Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity and Empowerment, or CAUSE, which seeks to push Amazon for higher wages, longer breaks and more scheduling flexibility, among other things. They will need a simple majority among voters to join the union.

In January, workers at a Whole Foods store in Philadelphia voted to unionize, the first successful organizing effort at the national grocery chain that Amazon acquired in 2017 for nearly $14 billion.

yeah and he didn't even need to get involved, JD didn't have to say anything about it. The doge guy was like "welp, guess i'm too openly racist to work here, bye" and JD has to chase after him like "no thats what we like about you, please come back." What was this guy's special talent that he was so vital that the vice president needs to beg him not to quit?

these are about three different people

Marko Elez, 25, resigned from DOGE after it was found he had tweeted stuff like "I was racist before it was cool", was then rehired after Musk and Vance declared their support for giving him another chance.

Gavin Kliger, 25, had retweeted posts from Nick Fuentes and Andrew Tate.

Edward "Big Balls" Coristine, 19, was fired from his previous job at a cybersecurity company for leaking company secrets to competitors.

As Donald Trump stood in the Capitol Rotunda last week, blundering his way through his second oath of office, online liberals were preoccupied with debating another matter: who will be the first Democrat to call Republicans the R-word? Setting aside the question of whether they should use a term widely considered an ableist slur, that very debate was revealing, for a number of reasons.

On the morning of inauguration day, #DarkWoke began trending on Twitter/X. The hashtag – ostensibly a tongue-in-cheek reference to “Dark Brandon” – emerged in reaction to an exchange between the Democratic congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the far-right influencer Chaya Raichik.

Over the weekend, Ocasio-Cortez posted an Instagram Reel in which she explained her lack of interest in attending any inaugural festivities. “I don’t celebrate r[*]pists,” she says bluntly. Raichik, whose social media account @LibsofTikTok is widely recognized for proliferating the anti-LGBTQ+ “groomer” moral panic, shared the video, declaring “another person Trump should sue”.

The congresswoman then retweeted Raichik, stating: “Oh, are you triggered? Cry more.” The post accrued more than 17m views, and in the process it birthed both a meme and a debate about Democrats’ approach to messaging for the next four years.

Should liberals start using slurs? No – and anyone who seriously entertains such a question has no business crafting comms strategy. It’s clear that Democrats’ current approach to messaging, however, is broken – and party leaders have no conception of how to fix it.

Yahoo News: What is Dark Woke & should the left embrace it? An explainer

In a lot of ways, this feels like the core of what’s behind Dark Woke — treating MAGA the exact same way they’ve been treating everyone else. And if that means kicking civility to the curb, then so be it. Sorry, Michelle Obama, they went low and we’re meeting them right there in the dirt.

But it’s entirely possible to embrace Dark Woke without becoming a wannabe edgelord who’s lost the plot. As one person on X pointed out, it’s kind of even an internet-centric repackaging of punk.

Well if 7-Zip followed modern Microsoft recommended practices, they would publish their program as a UWP app on the Microsoft Store, which would automatically update. But a lot of people don't like Microsoft Store Universal Windows Platform apps and prefer installing exe's.

A 7-Zip vulnerability allowing attackers to bypass the Mark of the Web (MotW) Windows security feature was exploited by Russian hackers as a zero-day since September 2024.

The Mark of the Web is a Windows security feature designed to warn users that the file they're about to execute comes from untrusted sources, requesting a confirmation step via an additional prompt. Bypassing MoTW allows malicious files to run on the victim's machine without a warning.

Hackers leveraged CVE-2025-0411 using double archived files (an archive within an archive) to exploit a lack of inheritance of the MoTW flag, resulting in malicious file execution without triggering warnings.

The specially crafted archive files were sent to targets via phishing emails from compromised Ukrainian government accounts to bypass security filters and appear legitimate.

Utilizing homoglyph techniques, the attackers hid their payloads within the 7-Zip files, making them appear harmless Word or PDF documents.

7-Zip addressed the risks via a patch implemented in version 24.09, released on November 30, 2024. However, as 7-Zip does not include an auto-update feature, it is common for 7-Zip users to run outdated versions.

Trump should sell California to China to pay off the national debt. Win-win-win.

Actually I'd bet that people could figure out how to run a Nintendo Switch emulator on Windows 98 if they really wanted to, that would probably be an easier way to play Witcher 3 on it.

I feel like we're already in WW3 but everyone has to pretend we're not to avoid escalating it to nuclear.
