He fundamentally can’t do action set pieces. Nothing makes sense spatially. The opening Tenet opera house scene makes very little sense. Same with the sinking ship scene in Dunkirk.

Granted I have not read Berserk but also I don’t think that is Guts

Like China hasn’t explicitly had an industrial policy of intellectual property theft.

HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA die mad about it bitch

I put like six of them on the cable and they don’t fully stop the muttering but they definitely attenuated it enough to be tolerable! Thank you for the suggestion.

[Am not Jewish] Eh I think it's harder to be an anti-zionist Jew than than an anti-zionist non-Jew. I can openly talk about being against zionism around my family & friends and their reaction is almost exclusively "yeah I don't like them, wish they would stop killing so many people". Sure it is slightly easier to smear me as antisemitic in professional circles. But at the end of the day it does not affect familial ties. Whereas you can just look at a poll about attitudes about zionism among Jewish people broken down by generation or other axes and see that you'd have to be pretty fucking lucky to have all your friends and family be chill with your anti-zionism if you are Jewish.

Probably clinched it due to that turning points USA event a few days ago where he gave a speech saying like “christians should not justify killing children” not that I believe he believes that. Clearly setting up for 2028 in the “actually actually against war super srs this time” lane.

Avatar 3 was unbelievably fucking good, literally zero weak points, an absolute masterpiece top to bottom

eh as quoted it seems like he could be referring to either side. zionists all say their apartheid nuclear statelet is at risk of annihilation from the ten thousand kids they have to kill every year. I don't think Cameron is saying that here. but the statement is not particularly clear.

Lutris seems to work. EGS specifically can be a bit of a pain though.

At this point it makes more sense to sort games by budget in the same way combat sports have weight classes. The indie category means little.

lmfao someone in there linked the Wikipedia article for “russian interference in the 2016 US election” as a trump card. there really are still some lev parnas deadenders who walk among us

pigmask-off: hey yeah so you want to go bear witness to our colonial dispossession operation, sure of course. First, just a minor thing, sign this form saying we can legally murder you

just a novel idea that is not a metaphor for any contemporary social issue

So currently I have some decent analog headphones from sennheiser that I use when I spend all day staring at the computer for my email job. Unfortunately I recently moved right near a big ass radio tower and it blasts some talk news show into my apartment so now there is NPR voice muttering in my ear whenever I put my headphones on. This is obviously a ploy by the deep state to instill the understanding that Venezuela must be bombed for world peace. I refuse to go that easily so I need to figure out a solution. Analog is out since I don't think any amount of RF shielding will work and I don't want to spend my time chasing down leaks. Who knew those zillion dollar audiophile shielded cable people had real concerns.

I guess the options are either bluetooth or USB/digital headphones? Bluetooth is ehhhhh since I'm on Linux. I would also like "open ear" headphones if possible, since I don't like to be shut off from the world & general happenings in the apartment. Open ear also lets me hear my own voice so I can speak a lot more naturally during video calls. So something like that, max cost maybe $250 new and ideally something I could get used off ebay for around $100. Also something that does not look dorky as hell so I can reasonably be seen wearing it on work calls. Any recs?

Played this recently after hearing good things. It broadly has the "build cozy community in late-stage capitalism" vibe. The early game (first 3 hours?) is excellent and pairs very well with the game mechanics. There is a real feeling of living on the edge even though the risk of failure is allegedly faked (the game isn't a roguelike). However, after that you become powerful enough that the survival mechanics are rendered irrelevant; you have enough money to buy as much food as you want, and can easily forage or buy scrap material to repair yourself. Thus the latter two thirds relies heavily on its story, which is really a bit one-note. The fundamental fantasy is that you can solve everybody's problems, making you this bizarre superhuman space-station-spanning force. This works against the overall plot that is about being a marginalized outsider building community to carve out a place for a small life in the cosmos, because you can singlehandedly remake the reality of the entire space station. Interesting conflicts within this new community you have made are not really ever explored, and it's entirely stuck in the wholesome solarpunk commune vs. giant menacing intergalactic corporations rut. Even the late-game refugee plot (ripped from today's headlines!) does not fully explore the interesting angle of how a humanistic system can handle refugees when life support systems could be authentically taxed by their arrival. I think here of The Dispossessed, where (spoilers to follow) a planet-wide famine is addressed in a messy but basically equitable way.

I've heard the sequel is a lot more difficult so perhaps it is worth checking out.-
