Multi-trillion-dollar stock market swings on Monday appear to have been set off by false reports on Elon Musk's X. Experts say the episode highlights the social media site's enduring relevance, even as it helps amplify falsehoods.

How did it happen?

Sounds like a Mod blew a gasket. Wait, Cybertrucks don't have gaskets. Sounds like a Mod's wheel sheered off. Anyone know what specifically caused the spontaneous combustion? There's always a trigger. Even if it has to do with the complaint earlier about Rule 1 something happened.

Sorry for adding to the massive pile of backup-related question, but I could not figure out how to manage backups from existing answers..

I want to backup my VPS setup (think container-defining files, its volumes, and etc configs), but am unsure where to put it. Does keeping these in the VPS itself make sense? If so, how do I create and manage the backup?

Also, I would need a remote copy - what is the good location for this? I wish I could copy to my laptop, but obviously I cannot do that automatically. Should I pay money for a backup? I want to avoid paying lots of money just for backups. Thanks in advance!

The Alphabet Workers Union-CWA announced today that the union has entered into an agreement with Google protecting the rights of all Google workers to speak freely about antitrust litigation brought by the Department of Justice against the company. The agreement resolves an unfair labor practice (ULP) charge the union filed last August with the National Labor Relations Board. That charge alleges that a company-wide email sent by President of Global Affairs Kent Walker directing Google employees to “refrain from commenting on this case, both internally and externally” violated workers’ rights under U.S. labor law. We are pleased that our concerns with this gag order have been recognized and addressed.‍

In an interview with The Associated Press, former Food and Drug Administration vaccine chief Dr. Peter Marks discussed his efforts to “make nice” with Kennedy and address his longstanding concerns about vaccine safety, including by developing a “vaccine transparency action plan.”

Marks agreed to give Kennedy’s associates the ability to read thousands of reports of potential vaccine-related issues sent to the government’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, or VAERS. But he would not allow them to directly edit the data.

“Why wouldn’t we? Because frankly we don’t trust (them),” he said, using a profanity. “They’d write over it or erase the whole database.”
