i feel like i just fought god and won. cis people cannot capture a tenth of the power i have amassed recently. i did mushrooms recently and i think they pulled out chakra i never knew i had like i'm freaking girl naruto over here

[-] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 10 points 6 months ago

They sound like such a top tier experience sicko-wistful Glad you had a good one too!

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 10 points 6 months ago

girl you have no idea. they completely reset certain pathways in your brain, apparently. you used to be able to buy spores online and grow them yourself, that might still be a thing if you're willing to do a little mycology

[-] Thallo@hexbear.net 12 points 6 months ago

Shrooms are no joke a life saver. They've been used in clinical trials to treat PTSD with wild success.

It's really insane that they're illegal. It's obvious to anyone who has tried them that they have incredible medical applications.

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 11 points 6 months ago

exactly! i feel so much lighter afterwards, it's amazing. i'm thinking i'm gonna do them alone next time and try to relax in a dark room like you're supposed to do on ketamine

[-] Thallo@hexbear.net 9 points 6 months ago

Everyone is different, but that's generally the exact opposite environment people recommend you do shrooms with.

Generally, you want visual stimulus, open areas (nature), and to be around people you trust and make you feel safe.

For me, if I'm alone in a dark room on shrooms, that's a one way ticket to a bad trip.

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 11 points 6 months ago

i've just been getting sick of being on them in public. it's always hot and everyone is always wasted. i think i'd much prefer it if i could sit in the peace and quiet, maybe talking to someone on discord or something for company

[-] Thallo@hexbear.net 8 points 6 months ago

Yeah, it's always good to have a spotter.

Maybe think of something good vibes like music or a video to keep yourself stimulated during the high.

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 8 points 6 months ago

lol my go-to activity is beating sonic adventure in one sitting, i think i'm fine in that regard

[-] Thallo@hexbear.net 9 points 6 months ago

Omg you're so fucking based. You really have ascended

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 8 points 6 months ago

thank you! it's such a fun game, right? please talk to me about it. which are your fav stories, what do you like, what do you dislike?

[-] Thallo@hexbear.net 7 points 6 months ago

Lmao I'm so glad you asked because I wanna talk about it, too.

First off, I love the music and the vibe. In general, I really like the Dreamcast aesthetic in general (very bright, clean, sunshine, stylish), and I think that was a game that really helped define the look. I really liked the open world wandering. It made it a lot of fun to just vibe in the world. I liked talking to people. Even though I think it's weird that sonic lives in a world with humans lol. The Chao garden is peak vibe, and I'm surprised how much time I spent in it because I'm not usually into minigames like that.

I like Sonic's gameplay, of course, as the game is built around it. I also like tails because they are just the sonic levels but with an added objective. Also really enjoyed E102-Y's (think that was his name) gameplay and story. Blasting the enemies is pretty cathartic.

I didn't like knuckles' gameplay, and I really disliked Big the cat's gameplay.

Tbh, I remember Amy being in the game, but I don't remember how she plays at all

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 8 points 6 months ago

i'm gonna loosely order these points in roughly the same way you brought them up

i love dreamcast-era games. i think with the recent resurgence of ps1-era graphics we're only a few years off from people being nostalgic about the dreamcast and i cannot wait. a lot of those games were just these pristine, ideal worlds. i wanted to live in station square. it really felt like an escape more than any other console for that reason.

i love sonic living with humans because it feels like they're all just sick of him. they've seen him a million times, he always fucks things up when he's there, but he's the only guy who can actually fix problems when they come up

i disliked the chao garden minigames but the chao themselves were fun to take care of. do you remember the VMUs? you could take the little chao into the world with you and it would continue to grow. that was so cool.

tails is my fav because he's basically sonic with the ability to cheat. the only problem with those missions is that they take no time at all because you get to cheat. gamma has the story i cry the most at (i do still cry at sonic adventure). he's such a sweet little guy and he has such a big heart.

knuckles levels are annoying unless you either game the spawn patterns or get incredibly lucky. i think they could easily just make them brawler levels like the werehog missions in sonic unleashed and everyone would have been happier.

big the cat gets a bad reputation because his levels are bad, he's goofy and all he does is bumble around and play in the sewer. i think that's why i like him so much. definitely glad we never had to play as him again though

amy's story is sort of like tails' where she gets a bunch of character development but they forget about all of that in the second one. really not memorable at all except for the cool hammer jump

[-] Thallo@hexbear.net 5 points 6 months ago

Yeah, those Dreamcast worlds just seemed really optimistic. Really contrary to the dark and gritty stuff the next generation would bring. But there was so much cool, stylish, experimental shit, too. Even stuff set in the real world like crazy taxy or ready to rumble boxing had such a great feel to them. Then there's that space channel 5, jet set radio Tokyo fashion that was super iconic. Just loved that system, and I was so sad that it didn't succeed.

Yeah, I remember the memory card things. That was a pretty neat gimmick, especially after the popularity of tamogachis. They often opened up new avenues of play for the games.

I don't remember gamma's story, it's been so long but I do remember it being very emotional.

Idk, I feel like people shit on sonic adventure a lot, and I never got it. People seem to like sonic adventure 2, which I think kind of sucks.

But I have to admit when it came out when I was am angsty teenager, I really liked shadow the hedgehog cringe (the character, not his game)

Also, honorable mention to Power Stone. Loved that game! And it really carries that Dreamcast aesthetic.

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 3 points 6 months ago

don't get me started on crazy taxi. i went to a barcade a few months ago and was watching some guy play it on a dreamcast they had set up. i was sitting there, pressure building inside my head because he couldn't do a crazy dash or anything. just a miserable performance from this man

anyway, the point i'm trying to make is that the world would be a better place if the dreamcast succeeded.

you should go back and play both sonic adventures! they're both on PC and can be easily modded to improve the graphics and even restore the dreamcast models in the director's cut edition of the first game. shadow is definitely very edgy but i also really liked his story and really how dark the second game got.

i'll check out power stone soon! honestly i never considered the possibility of dreamcast emulation

In nature or alone in my room, phone off. Deep meditation.

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 8 points 6 months ago

you're married, right? you have someone who is more than likely willing to tripsit or do them with you, there's no reason not to give it at least one shot

[-] ashinadash@hexbear.net 8 points 6 months ago

Uh I mean yeah I guess Idk? Change my brain chemistry? It's good maybe?

I think the primary issue is two autists (wife and I) would be utterly incapable of sourcing. People be like ARE YOU A FED no ma'am I'm just woefully socially inept!

[-] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 7 points 6 months ago

I don't know where you live, but in most US states you can legally by spores. I don't know about internationally though.

[-] ashinadash@hexbear.net 9 points 6 months ago

US states

Death to amerikkka. Also what I would have to grow em?

[-] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 7 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

I haven't done it myself, but r/unclebens and shroomery org both have good info. It doesn't look terribly difficult.

If memory serves a few bags of rice and some cleaning equipment are the big things.

[-] rayne@hexbear.net 7 points 6 months ago

Brown rice flour and vermiculite is a good way to start if you don't already own a pressure cooker. Use the shroomery and look for the PFTek. If you ask in the ask quick questions get quick answers thread for a up-to-date PFTek someone that knows better than I would be able to help. (I also grow edibles so I use techniques that require more equipment).

Reddit teks are mostly garbage.

[-] QueerCommie@hexbear.net 4 points 6 months ago

Thanks for knowing more than my (previously sufficient) googled information. Any idea about growing shrooms in breakfast cereal? lol. saw it mentioned somewhere.

[-] rayne@hexbear.net 5 points 6 months ago

You probably could. I would still use a PF tek to do that if you don't have access to a pressure cooker, it's the best way to germinate spores and get fruits without losing everything to contamination.

But basically you could probably take Cheerios and throw them in a coffee grinder. And use them as a substitute for the brown rice flour.

[-] QueerCommie@hexbear.net 5 points 6 months ago

I think I have a pressure cooker. What’s the difference in method recommended? Could probably get brown rice flour tbh.

[-] rayne@hexbear.net 6 points 6 months ago

Pressure cookers also have a learning curve. With that method you use hydrated and sterilized grains and really should know culture work to do it too.

For personal use the pf tek with BRF and vermiculate works well. You can steam pastuirze them rather than sterilize. And can inoculate straight from a spore syringe. If you live in the United States I'd suggest going through spore works. Their syringes are very clean. It doesn't produce a lot but it produces enough.

It's the same idea as the Uncle Ben's Tek. But it produces better and more consistently, with only a little bit more work.

[-] QueerCommie@hexbear.net 7 points 6 months ago

I’ve yet to put in the effort, but I did do the research: https://realitysandwich.com/mushroom-grow-kits/

[-] Thallo@hexbear.net 10 points 6 months ago

You have ascended.

You are now ascendedassbitch

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 11 points 6 months ago

i'd make a new account to reflect my power level but i don't want to take a test

[-] rayne@hexbear.net 8 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Try Pan Bisporus if you can. I did psychedelics for two decades before I tried these mushrooms.

Within a year they cracked my egg.

Going to take some tonight, turn off my phone and chill in my bed.

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 8 points 6 months ago

those sound very effective! i'm gonna try these ones that got talked up a whole bunch and see if a friend can source those

[-] rayne@hexbear.net 9 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Pan Cyans are pretty popular and very potent. I've grown both those and Bisporus. The Bispo I definitely prefer.

patriarchyThe first time I took them I saw this dark spirit hanging over me. Almost like a vampire consuming my energy. The mushrooms showed up as if to say we're holding space, this isn't you.

And yeah, it was that patriarchal energy. The class system we call the gender binary.

I have a lot of gratitude for them, for helping me uproot that stuff. I've probably taken cubes 50 times and they were never that direct with me.

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 8 points 6 months ago

that sounds like a really healing experience, i'll look around and if i can't find anything i'll look into spores

[-] rayne@hexbear.net 7 points 6 months ago

I'm coming up on them now. Laying in bed, practicing my voice training is very nice :)

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 7 points 6 months ago

i'm glad it's peaceful, have a good trip!

[-] rayne@hexbear.net 7 points 6 months ago

Thanks! There was some difficulty.

I think I'm over cigarettes though!! Which was a major goal for this weekend. My gf is out of town so getting another pack takes a lot of effort.

I'm stocked up on lozenges and the thought of inhaling cigarettes again just sounds disgusting

[-] regularassbitch@hexbear.net 5 points 6 months ago

good stuff, that's a hard one to kick so i hope it works out

[-] rayne@hexbear.net 6 points 6 months ago

I'm going to do more work on it with my therapist. See if we can find the part that picked the habit back up and heal it.

I had quit for 5 years but relapsed about a year ago.

The mushrooms are wearing off and I'm already wanting a cigarette but I threw them out! So I'm going to go find a lozenge.

[-] anonochronomus@hexbear.net 8 points 6 months ago

Hells yeah! Shrooms rock. I have a super potent mushroom rice crispy treat that I'm planning on eating when everyone leaves the office I work in. I get bad tummy aches from mushrooms, so it'll be nice to get paid to suffer on the come up before I go all Albert Hoffman and ride my bike home.
