how do you be nice to yourself? i haven't done that in like a month now and i feel like shit and i think i forgot what self kindness was
woo i guess? Idk, just one method of self care ig.
\Step 0 (optional): prepare some relaxing music
Step 1: draw a bath (add bubblebath or a bathbomb if youve got dysphoria, as it clouds the water and occludes your body)
Step 2: enter the bath. Press play if you prepared some music.
Step 3: let go. Visualize every muscle in your body relaxing and letting go.
Step 4: visualize your abstract self, devoid of form. Look her in her proverbial eye and say "I love you. You are wonderful. I cherish you, your presence. I am so happy that I get to know you, that I get to be you."
Repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed
Step 5: step out of and drain the bath.
Step 6: towel off and moisturize your body. Then wrap yourself in a towel. Pause the music if its playing.
Step 7: go lay under the blankets of your bed. If you have any plushies/stuffed animals/friends, hold them. Let any thoughts that arise drift away, like balloons youve let go of.
