It's actually an interesting extension of Plato's 'Laws', where in all sexual activity is supposed to be suppressed for the lower classes in order to stimulate their work ethic, but the wealthy can do as they please. Despite the fact that we create their wealth, our reproduction is a privilege, theirs is a right.

Plato was like the first dude-bro fascist as far as I am concerned, it is incredible how that gets glossed over in philosophy.

Yeah reading Plato's republic, where he writes about the need for military culture and people being born with certain souls which sort them into a hierarchy was insane. It's so strange for him to be one of the most known philosophers, yet his actual philosophy is so proto-fascist and no one ever mentions that.
