I once told my uncle, who is both a chud and a Trekkie, about how the show was actively fought against by segregated states like Alabama. Episodes that prominently featured Uhura would get censored or not shown at all, for instance.
My uncle replied that the show is still right wing, because segregation was left wing since Democrats supported it.
My favorite response to that is to ask which side still flies Confederate flags today and cries when Confederate statues get taken down.
So you are saying Joe Brandon was the most left wing president the US ever had?
