Just listened to the interview with the AZ sec of state. Simultaneously confidence building and also frightening in how liberals just insist that imaginary forces of good will win the day.

But they do though. The problem is the timeframe isn't fixed. Could be tomorrow could be 20 years. That's the monkeys paw in action.

"Monkeys paw" is a reference to an old short story, and in this context it boils down to "be careful what you wish for"

I think he was going for the "and everyone lived happily ever after" business common to tgose stories. Reality tends not to wrap up so neatly.
