Context: JJ McCullough is a kkkanadaian Ameriboo, who, on shitter, once known as twitter, hates Quebec and france-cool first, who may or may not think some superificial similtiaries of a country to another makes them practically have the same culture

But that being said, Idk why Noah Smith the neocon and neolib is yapping about, of alien cultures...

Canada seems like it tried to imitate American wokeness (as it imitates American everything), but wokeness didn't really fit Canadian society as well (because it has no large permanent-underclass minority), so it mutated into something very toxic and bizarre.

J.J. McCullough @JJ_McCullough

Sick of this take. Canada and the US share a common culture. Canadians don't "import" US ideas anymore than say, lowa "imports" conservatism from New York or whatever. Canada has a right and a left just like every other place. Canadian leftists come to their beliefs sincerely.

Noah Smith

We don't really share a culture

J.J. McCullough @JJ_McCullough

What an absurd thing to say. Yes we absolutely do.

@Noahpinion

We both have a bunch of white people and speak English and stuff, but the cultures are deeply alien

i was thinking language + culture, but i should have put latvia-lithuania i guess

still, finland is surely much more similar to estonia than karnataka is to maharashtra or guangdong is to hunan

Latvia and Lithuania are also surprisingly different in many ways.
