Jesus, water treatment is not that hard....

It's really big and shallow, so without juat turning it into a toxic mess, it's probably also not that easy. The problem is spending 14 million dollars in tax money to "fix" it, while making it worse. I swear they only do this shit so americans get so used to these high numbers so they don't revolt. 14 millions here 300 billions there, don't worry, if you work long and hard enough, you can afford 3 eggs

Sounds dumb, but since the water source is a literal swamp and it's an open loop, there's really not much they can do besides clean it frequently. It`s just going to keep pulling water from the swamp anyway.

I mean they could tear it up and make it a really nice green space, but we can't really expect that to happen.

Should be fed through multiple types of filtration system followed by chemical adds if needed then. Or just create a closed loop system fed off the city water with minimal filtration. It would take money and maintenance but so would anything going in its place really.

Couldn't they just basically dig a tiny pump house basement under it and treat the water as one might a pool? Naturally the best option would be the way it was before he fucked with it but still.

Didn't they say they were gonna drain that swamp?

[–] scutiger@lemmy.world 1 points 22 hours ago

I think they meant the metaphorical swamp, not the literal swamp, but maybe I'm wrong about that.
