I wish I had to hand that one tumblr post, in which the user states that as someone queer from the imperial periphery they feel totally alienated from most queer spaces, which are both US-centric and often have an identity based purely around consumption. Feels like it would apply.

What even is "our music"? I'm one of the LGBT identities she thinks are getting pushed out, and I'm doubtful she has the same obscure taste in music as me. I'm normally not one to judge other people's musical preferences, but I'm sure her pick-me taste in music is shit.
