Hold up were Stalin and Trotsky metamours?
Nah, but it's Tumblr. Even political Tumblr needs a deranged headcanon ship.
If you're willing to get speculative, Trotsky and Kamenev may have been metamours through Winston Churchill's cousin. (As I understand it the rumor is that Claire Sheridan had affairs with multiple subjects of her soviet art, with the consensus being that she most likely had an affair with Kamenev at least)
Not as far as I'm aware. Trotsky is "confirmed" to have been with 3 women; Aleksandra Sokolovskaya, Natalya Sedova and Frida Kahlo.
Sokolovskaya was killed in the great purge, Sedova had no contact with Stalin (And was also the perfect Trotskyist, in that she broke with Trotskyism and the 4th international for not being Trotskyist enough) and Frida Kahlo and Stalin never met.
