How long has ICE been a problem? And isn’t it quite obvious that nothing will change unless there is a different president?
I wonder why this is still news, as if there is nothing more important.
I get it, it is a huge issue and it is very important to document every single case, but justice can only be served after the republicans are gone. Until then, keep the material or send it to an attorney.
But it is not news anymore.
Since it was created. Really, since INS was created, from which ICE was branched off.
I don't see why a different president would change anything. Remember: Tom Homan was originally an Obama appointee.
Justice delayed is justice denied.
The fact that nothing is happening in response to this, Epstein, climate change, fascism, the rest of the polycrisis, etc., makes all these things more newsworthy, not less. USians need to see these things over and over and over until it makes them so nauseous that they can't stand to do nothing anymore.
Thanks for sharing your viewpoint. Of course, we all want immediate justice. It is just not going to happen.
I am still very unsure if it helps using news for this topic, or if there are not other, more urgent things to talk about. We will see, I guess
Remember his first term? The one where ICE put kids in cages, lost a lot of them, and some died? Starting to ring a bell?
Then, do you also remember all the prosecutions against ICE agents during the following administration?
If you do, please link it, because I sure as fuck don't remember reading it.
I see what you are saying, but making it news will not fix this issue. They also had 4 years to prosecute Trump and failed. The problem is here, but you cannot fix it by making it news. That’s all I am trying to say. :)
Some were. As an example:

There were also a number of them under investigation, but the investigations have stalled.
Nowhere near enough have been prosecuted or even investigated for that matter, but to suggest there is no difference under Democrats compared to Republicans would not be accurate.
And some CBP officers are still being prosecuted under the current administration so you'll need to actually point out what the difference is if a few token prosecutions is all you have to make a distinction.

Let me know when those land with some sentencing.
That said, If you can't see a difference in the operation of each administration (which I can't even comprehend being possible, personally, without some sort of willful ignorance), then nothing I say will matter anyway.
