They know what the truth is, they just reject it to conform to their beliefs

It's a common pattern to be like 'whaaat, no way!' to something you obviously know about to try and infuriate the other into thinking they're wrong

There's someone exactly like that who keeps trying to say dems would actually help Americans if they were only ones in power.

Bonus points they use ACA being passed as the example and hate being reminded it was just Romneycare

Far-right reactionaries have been using sea lioning and concern trolling to mask their neo-nazi beliefs for decades. "Whaaaat? I didn't know 1488 was a dog whistle for nazis! I thought it was when the Boston Tea Party happened, so that's why I got this tattoo."

You saw a lot of it during the Gamergate shit with "ethics in game journalism," as if that's a real issue and it wasn't just a campaign to harass women.

Part of the reason it worked is that ethics in game journalism is shit sometimes. It's not just a game journalism issue though, it's all "journalism" lmao. Coincidentally they also only cared when the journalism involved women or minorities (and they made shit up to get mad at too). gamer-gulag

it's all "journalism" lmao.

That was my response at the time. "You think game reviews are bad? Wait until you find out what the military and Nestlé are doing with your local news anchors."
