Lol, I started watching that vid and just didn't have the time for it. But I was wondering how political he'd get about it all given how he started off.
He directly says Abolish ICE
Yeah, that part was cool and good! Much respect. [no sarcasm]
He does a false ending, so people can avoid this part of the video. The actual video ends with almost 45 minutes left on the clock. Then he starts talking about how much he believes in labor. He said some pretty cool shit about how much he respects roughnecks for the work they're doing, but would rather they never have to do it because it's some Sisyphean Task where the byproduct of their labor is literally burned and destroyed at the end of the process, building effectively nothing, leaving them to endlessly toil away on these oil drilling platforms. I'm like, cool cool cool here's where he comes out and says something about how Karl Marx knew where all this was heading in the 1800s or something and then BAM, he throws into a full blow rant about how our great constitution is dead, and the Republicans are always destroying the good things the Democrats do. Mixed in there are some thoughts about how captured Democrats are by corporate interests.
It's a real mix of anger, denial, and bargaining. Maybe instead of Technology Connections, he'll start making some Dialectical Connections after the midterms, and enter into the acceptance phase.

Either that or he does get it but is holding back to reach his audience. I think it's not that though. It usually isn't.

I regularly deal with an American conservative relative. I sometimes do this kind of thing when I think my actual leftism isn't worth the argument. I also have to deal with neoliberal nut jobs more locally on a daily basis, I do the local variant of this day in and day out. I consider myself successful if I can get the liberals to call a fascist a fascist, even if I can't fix their fundamental misunderstanding of how it happened, how it can happen here, and what to do about it from the position we are in.
Hiding one's power level like this, in most cases, isn't Emmy worthy. It's just daily life for leftists in conservative areas where liberal children of the Cold War are the very best you're going to get for neighbours and family and friends. I can't go around quoting Lenin. But I can say that the US is a fucked up shithole and we must avoid our country going down the same path, and that makes the conservatives mad but it's not as bad as what both the conservatives and the libs would do to a proud commie.
