yeah that was bonkers. like, the pool of people who can see the offer amount someone submitted on a specific house is TINY and has a crazy paper trail, because the agents of capital like their anonymity during negotiations. the rules weren't written to protect people like this, the protection is incidental.
and this guy approaches this woman in public, disclosing that information means he recognizes her by sight, knows her name, and has all that confidential information. and his wife just happens to be a realtor with access to the particulars of the offer?
