Question is, does Trump know what unconditional surrender means, or does he just think it’s a cooler, more badass version of surrender?
"unconditional surrender" isn't really a thing, it's a refusal to accept surrender. In reality, conditions are the POINT of a surrender. If your opponent isn't offering any guarantees why wouldn't you fight to the last man, woman and child? "Unconditional" could mean "we are going to execute everyone in this country". That's why it was demanded of Japan - there was no surrender they could offer that wouldn't allow the US to say it wasn't enough and nuke them anyway, which is exactly what happened.
It's a prettied-up version of "no quarter" intended to obfuscate the war crime.
Why are you asking that while wearing your "Trump thinks unconditional surrender is just a more badass version of surrender" t-shirt?
