Outside of the blatant racism, he was generally a well respected President who designed a lot of the framework for the post World War II international order while not being able to implement it in his time.
Jonah Goldberg, George Will, CATO, and many others would like to have a few words with you.
Oh. And Shirley. I know you didn't mean it to sound that way but she is still going to want to say something.
There was also the immense domestic repression, including jailing dissidents during WW1.
Also, the racism had a huge impact. The USA was no anti-racist paradise before, but Wilson set matters back a half-fucking century. And in doing so, took an immense amount of energy of decent folk into fighting to claw back the rights of Black Americans.
Exacerbating a problem not only exacerbates the problem, but also reduces resources available for all other problems.
