This isn't really true. If you compare women in video games now vs before GamerGate there's a really big difference. Look up how the female characters were dressed in Mortal Kombat 9 and then how they look in Mortal Kombat 11/MK1.

Back in the 2000s, video games were still marketed entirely towards men and girls were only allowed to play the Sims or Animal Crossing. That has shifted massively and having female characters who aren't just there for men to gawk at has been a major part of that. Having a female lead in a Battlefield/CoD game was unthinkable before GamerGate.

You could definitely argue that Anita Sarkeesian "won" and the capital G Gamers "lost". There are way more women in video games and they're less overtly sexualized than they were 20 years ago. Even now, the specter of Sarkeesian haunts the Gamers as GW plans to introduce female space marines into Warhammer 40k or sth like that. This has less to do with corporations realizing the importance of feminism and more with them recognizing women as a marketable demographic, but still.

In fact, chuds continue to lose battles on this front in the culture war. More and more games allow you to be gay. They're currently losing the character creator battle where games now have you choose between "Body type 1 and 2" as opposed to "Male and female", which they are furious about. We literally have this emote pronouns of a chud raging about pronoun selection in Starfield. As far as video games go, the wokes are undoubtedly winning.
