I'd simply turn my ship. Once it builds up enough rotational energy, it will fly like a helicopter from the Mediterranean to its destination. It's cowardice to do anything less.

reminds me of playing GTA3 and walking past the bollards stopping you from jumping the bridge to the next area to spawn a tank, turning the turret to fire behind me causing enough momentum to fly into the next area, causing the tank to soar through the sky like a plane
