The saxon prince elector of the 30 years war was mostly famous for drinking himself into unsciousness in a badly-lit cavernous hall while a brass band was playing the stuff Germans mistake for music. He was nicknamed Beer John (Bierjörg). His father was John Sausage (Hanswurst). He was considered the rule, rather than the exception.
It is safe to say that Germans have only gotten worse since than.
You described the two raddest dudes possible, it can only go downhill from there
Yeah, to be fair, they were at least having some form of good time. Germans need to go back to being politically fractured farmers obsessed with eating and drinking. They clearly cant handle modern civilization...
Where's the apology form...
Hello fellow Hell on Earth listener
I have a hyperfixiation on the 30 years war that I cant help lol
Same here. Sometimes I think it's going to come in handy since it feels like we're entering a global 30 years war, then I remember I'm gonna be one of the rando townsfolk getting trampled instead of some duke surviving by fleeing to England
How often do you think about the Holy Roman Empire?
Every time I hear about modern germany I cry and scream 'bring my fractured polity back.'
Splintered German statelets gave us Hegel and Marx so apparently it makes some of them better at thinking
Medieval Germany was famed for culture, early modern Germany was famed for philosophy, then the Prussia happened and Germany only become known for war and genocide.
I really need to get my Christman fix. I've relistened to the Spain series and both Hell series so many times now. Need more.
