No matter what your opinions of this demonstration are, I do appreciate that we have the freedom to engage in such protests. Would such a gathering be possible in Putin's Russia, or in China under the CCP's rule?

Eglin isn't even trying any more

Imagine how much they would repress anti-genocide protests in two countries which aren't committing this genocide. Clearly we are superior to the Asiatic races, despite committing the genocide being protested and repressing those protests with paramilitary forces.

Would such a gathering be possible in Putin's Russia

idk maybe, maybe not. Russia is a capitalist oligarchy like the US. And the US has been cracking down on protests under the context of “muh private property” for weeks now.

or China under the CCP rule?

Yes, absolutely. This notion that they don’t allow protests in China or Cuba is nuts, there’s probably more protests in China than in the US.

They have to pretend protests in china don't exist because protests in china usually lead to the government changing things

...Weren't they fist pumping the war protests in Russia a couple years ago?

Entertain for a second the idea that the Bad Countries won't let you protest. So they think it's a choice between:

  • A Bad Country that won't let you protest, because they'd beat and arrest you and then change nothing; or
  • A Good Country where they let you protest, beat and arrest you for doing so, then change nothing

What exactly is the supposed difference?
