Everything from the top down in this country is built around people with kids. The entire social safety net, 90% of public spaces etc....

The childless are always an afterthought.

I don't think so. Suburbs are very child-unfriendly, for example, and this, I think, is one of the most important factors for the rise of socially maladjusted people. The capitalist economy is also much harder for people with children.

That's probably true these days. I grew up in a neighborhood, and it was just like the boomers say. Playing until the street lights came on, all the kids were close enough to my age... We played street hockey and skateboarded. Lots of neighborhood wide games of hide and seek. The neighbors mostly knew each other

Our lives were a little less atomized back then, and the economy wasn't completely soul crushing.

This is a common refrain from many in the online right. They say this about ALL women who are older and without children.

Doesn't she have children? Also is Fucker Carlson back on Fox?

Stepchildren don't count to people that think that everyone should just put infants up for adoption instead of getting an abortion.

I love when people who are allied to (if they don't believe it themselves) the cause that says "fuck the planet to death because the rapture is imminent" act like anyone else on this cursed world cares less about the future than they do.

Representation is important. As a childfree Millenial, I finally feel seen. Kamala is going to get a historic landslide win due to America's biggest voting bloc - the r/childfree subreddit.

Why aren't there pandering ~~psychopaths~~ malevolent actors at the top of the political ladder manipulating us into voting for them? Why do we have actually silly gooses at the top blundering every time they're in front of a camera? If you want to make THE SAME POINT about her, just say she's so whacked out on xanax she wouldn't be able to tell a book club from a military strategy meeting. It's been in the playbook for over 100 years. Don't go on fucking Fox News trying to reinvent the pop song 4 months before the election - do that in response to the state of the union.

Fact confirmed; if you don't use it you lose it all.

They said things like this about Hillary too and still beat her (through the electoral college). It’s gross stuff but their base have no problem with it and sadly it’s not enough to turn everybody off.

[-] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 8 points 3 months ago

Tbf, Hillary already had all kinds of baggage, and the republicans had spent the better part of two decades spinning up shit about her. Pelosi running would be a better equivalent to Hillary, imo. It was a huge, huge risk basically for no benefit besides for the Clinton's own vanity/glory.

True, I agree

Dems have what is basically another layup and it’s going to be really funny to see them blow it again (but not really because I’m sure they’re financially happy with Trump let’s be real for a second)

Plenty of people think like this. Your worth is not tied to your reproductive capacity.
