Missing the days where I would have a weekend pathfinder group.

ttrpg.network is a whole instance for discussing tabletop rpgs

[-] Zagorath@aussie.zone 9 points 4 days ago

And !pathfinder@ttrpg.network specifically for Pathfinder.

There used to be pathfinder.social, but it went offline a long time ago, so anything anyone tried to post to it won't be federated anywhere.

Your instance seems to be failing to federate properly with it. It's not super active, but it's much more active than what I see when I view it from your instance.

guess a lot of people that post there got banned? idk. i may make an account on ttrpgnetwork ๐Ÿค”

strange but it shows nothing for me but it has a thing saying it is federated with my instance but stuff may not show.

You talking about pathfinder.social? Yeah as best I can tell, the server is still technically up, but it's not really functioning correctly, so you just get what looks like an empty Lemmy instance if you go there directly. If you go to !pf2general@pathfinder.social (or one of that instance's other communities) from your own instance you can browse the old content, but don't bother with any replies or posts; they'll seem to work and display to you, but not get sent out to anyone on any other instances.

nope pathfinder@ttrpg.network shows wierd for me. This asklemmy I am on though shows fine which is asklemmy@lemmy.ml

Hmm, interesting. I don't know about Mbin, but on Lemmy this sort of thing could be caused if you were on an instance where nobody has subscribed to that community yet. But your instance also has problems with !rpggreentext@ttrpg.network, !vamp_tm@ttrpg.network, and !rpg@ttrpg.network. And even !rpgmemes@ttrpg.network is failing to federate comments. It could be a problem with how Mbin works, or simply caused by nobody on your instance subscribing to those communities. Not sure.

I mean I subscribe to pathfinder@ttrpg today but maybe it will take some time.

[-] Zagorath@aussie.zone 1 points 3 days ago

Yeah hopefully that'll work going forward. Typically it won't let you see the older content, but hopefully it'll work to allow you to see any new content from now on.

Not Lemmy, but I'd love to invite you and anybody else to the Discord of Many Things. It's a large (~13k) community focused on D&D 5e. I'm Alice.

Ive only played maybe 10 times total and that was years ago but I would be up for trying again.

[-] Pooptimist@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

If you play pathfinder, paizo (the publishers/creators) have a discord with group finder threads and stuff

[-] warbond@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

I didn't think I've seen much of anything on Lemmy.

I've considered joining in on community games from the MCDM discord, the company that Matt Colville started. Lots of YouTube content for you to get an idea of what his deal is and the kind of community they're trying to foster.

[-] Qkall@lemmy.ml 3 points 4 days ago

Probably not exactly what you are looking for, but the unexpectables discord server has a room dedicated to folks looking to link up. I loathe discord, but they're the only reasons I visit that hellscape...

It's a D&D podcast/stream. You can find their stuff most places and archived streams on their official YT channel. I hate podcasts and am not into D&D at all, but for some reason montyglu's dm style has me hooked. Like she really cares about her NPCs and lore as well as making sure her players are having a good time. It helps her players are hilarious and most are really good voice actors. But you can tell they would be playing regardless of their internet followers and a source of income. Check it out. You don't need campaign one to enjoy campaign two but you will miss out on some great stuff sprinkled in.
