Another Democratic operative close to Harrisworld says they sent memos and data to Harris campaign staffers underscoring how, among other things, Republican voters, believe it or not, vote Republican — and that the data over the past year screamed that Democrats instead needed to reassure and energize the liberal base and Dem-leaning working class in battleground states. “We were told, basically, to get lost, no thank you,” says the operative.

Poor Kamala fell out of the coconut tree and didn't know everyone fucking hates the Cheneys. data-laughing

Wow. She deserved that historic loss.

[-] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 32 points 1 month ago

everyone fucking hates the Cheneys

Not too long ago republicans loved them. Amazing how quickly they throw out their own for votes.

Would you intentionally piss off the one guy you know who got away with shooting his "friend" in the face and then making the "friend" apologize to him?

[-] Dessa@hexbear.net 14 points 1 month ago

A lot of Republicans hated Cheney too. He's one of the most despised people in politics

[-] Midnight_Pearl@hexbear.net 69 points 1 month ago

Biden’s continued support for Israel’s brutal war in Gaza.

day #12345342546 of the press being too chickenshit to call a genocide a genocide

war my ass

[-] Rom@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago

Don't worry it'll be a genocide come January 20th

[-] SteamedHamberder@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

Nah Bibi wraps up the genocide on 1/19, leaving a spot along the Philadelphia corridor for A new Trump casino.

sent this to one of the neighbors I'm trying to radicalize

he first responded to just the headline by saying, "but doesn't it seem like a good idea to try to win over any Republicans we can?" 😂

sent him the part you quoted, and then a moment later

dude, even Bill Fuckin Kristol was telling them to reconsider!

Interestingly, Bill Kristol, a top Never Trump Republican, publicly urged Harris in the final weeks of the campaign to pitch a progressive, populist economic message against Trump and his army of billionaire supporters.

In late October, he wrote on X: “Feels like maybe Kamala Harris should embrace Elizabeth Warren’s Ultra-Millionaire Tax and barnstorm on that for the next ten days.”

he is now just saying he's very tired and can't talk anymore tonight and has sworn off watching news for a while.

!!! somebody tell me what to send him tomorrow. need some hopeful stuff that isn't too obviously commie because he will reject it. not too long, either – he is retired but he has ADHD.

other cool neighbor is gonna be busy at work all weekend, but I'll pester her Monday

You can maybe try one of Bernie's recent statements. One of them was generally positive about how Democrats can move forward from this, but also critical. Obviously that's not our goal, but it could push him a little bit.

[-] dustbunnies@hexbear.net 25 points 1 month ago

oooooooohhhhhh this is a good idea. he told me after Hillary lost that he wished he had listened to me and voted for Bernie in the primary.

thank you ❤️❤️❤️

[-] P1d40n3@hexbear.net 24 points 1 month ago

Give them some time and space. Let each bite set in, one step at a time. It's important work you are doing, but don't just be another political pest, IMHO.

[-] dustbunnies@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

as I said to someone else with similar concerns, I promise to be gentle. ❤️

[-] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 18 points 1 month ago

I would space it out a day or two between comments. Keep pushing, just you don't want to be annoying about it. The libs are sore right now.

[-] dustbunnies@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago

I solemnly promise to be gentle ❤️ he's one of my few remaining irl friends.

he is the only person outside my immediate family to have seen me having a PTSD-induced panic attack, and he was very kind about it.

it also seemed to change how he sees me, and he has been treating me much more like a peer than a kid sister ever since, which doesn't make a ton of sense to me, but 🤷 I'll take it.

[-] RedWizard@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago

You know, I didn't see the "not to long" and "hopeful" part and thought you should send him this:

https://www.counterpunch.org/2024/11/08/the-crack-up/

Except its not short or hopeful. Lol maybe this is a good send for the "anger" part of the grieving process.

[-] dustbunnies@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago

wasn't terribly surprised by any of it but jfc this

The Harris campaign raised a billion dollars and ended $20 million in debt. Many people got rich by dispensing terrible advice.

this makes me very angry

I just cannot wrap my brain around having so little conscience

[-] ShareThatBread@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago

Some figure about how many people didn’t vote at all and why didn’t the Dems appeal to them.

[-] Zuzak@hexbear.net 60 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

“People don’t want to be in a coalition with the devil,” says the source, speaking about Dick Cheney. They say a Harris staffer responded that it was not the staff’s role to challenge the campaign’s decisions.

I see the Russian bots managed to infiltrate the Harris campaign.

Interestingly, Bill Kristol, a top Never Trump Republican, publicly urged Harris in the final weeks of the campaign to pitch a progressive, populist economic message against Trump and his army of billionaire supporters.

Omfg

[-] barrbaric@hexbear.net 46 points 1 month ago

When Bill Kristol is urging you to turn left you must have done something horribly wrong.

[-] invo_rt@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Bill Kristol... urged Harris... to pitch a progressive, populist economic message...

pooh-wtf bruh

Good ammunition against libs when you say "I told you so"

[-] SchillMenaker@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago

And here I was thinking that the only good ammunition against libs is measured in millimeters.

"Country over party" is such a terrible slogan for a dem

[-] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 14 points 1 month ago

(The) Country is Over Party. amerikkka

[-] vegeta1@hexbear.net 28 points 1 month ago

Russian bots infiltrated the Dems

[-] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 19 points 1 month ago

Interesting. I think the dem machine could learn a lot from Psaki's insight that dozens of millions are much bigger than a million (or however many GOP they could snag).

Former White House Press Secretary and MSNBC host Jen Psaki said Friday on Morning Joe that Democrats had spent too much time listening to and lifting up Republicans who left Trump and the Never Trump movement.

“The people who left the Democratic Party are the people who are going to win in the future,” she said. “The people who left Trump, the Never Trumpers — who have important voices — that is not a winning coalition.”

[-] SuperZutsuki@hexbear.net 19 points 1 month ago

The way things are going the dems are gearing up to get less than 50 million votes next time and still scratch their heads wondering why they keep losing voters.

[-] came_apart_at_Kmart@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

ignoring advisors and data, talk about deranged leadership. kinda sounds like maybe trump really was the harm reduction candidate, because who knows how dark and cruel "I'm speaking!" could get under the cover of a fawning mediasphere that would gleefully silence any criticism. trump's gonna be a piece of shit and inspire a lot of violence, but they hate him so the victims of that barbarism won't be easily, smugly framed as terrorists and bigots by all of the talking heads.

[-] Mickmacduffin@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

Disregard my previous post regarding dem insiders. You do not under any circumstances have to hand it to them

[-] marxisthayaca@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago

Ok, they are excused the wall, they still have to do manual labor.
