They have no right memeing about Tiananamen or the Uyghurs when westerners are literally crusading for their schools to deny their history of marginalizing different races, because that’s wokeness CRT and that might make me feel guilty over the thing I’m not even sorry for!

Also y’know, complaining about an imaginary genocide when they’ve been supporting an incredibly obviously real one for 18 months

He could of course perform this “experiment” himself like all the grown ups do, but he’s such a smart boy that he knows what the results will be ahead of time

"Try talking to a Yankee about Palestinians or Mexico just as a fun lil experiment"

aS An eXpErImEnT

Yeah as an experiment they should be shown this stuff and see if it does anything to alter their views; I totally believe they'll change their views when they see this stuff.

As an experiment this guy should be barbara-pit-ed, I'm sure the results will be interesting

I went down a little rabbit hole trying to figure out how they got that spiral pattern on the naan. Turns out they stamp it before they bake it! The whole process is pretty neat.

It's very funny because rednote is only taking off because the US government is attempting to censor pro-Palestine content by banning tiktok

The best evidence against the accusations of genocide is the fact that Chinese people and the state itself is completely fine with the expression and acknowledgement of Xinjiang and Uyghur's culture.

Now, I won't say that there arent racial dynamics at play, because just because you're not subject to genocide doesn't mean the state can't impose a monolithic cultural identity onto you (Eg. how "British" identity is imposed onto member states of the UK).

I'm sure there are internal -isms being applied to groups on the periphery of the Chinese sociopolitical system, but what tells me it's moreso discrimination than genocide is that we know what genocidal states do regarding expression of the identity in question - they bury it, flatten it, outlaw it, beat it.

If what is happening to the Uyghurs is truly genocide ( at least in the eyes of the western world), the west would have to treat Turkey, Jolani's Syria, Israel, Ethiopia, Sweden, and many more states within the same principles.

Until then, we can be sure that China and the West are in tacit agreement that China's political control of Xinjiang is not genocidal in nature.
