If you add an asterisk and a space after each line break, it will give you a bulleted list.

Or two line breaks without bullets (essentially, an empty line of whitespace).

Like this.

And this.

That is a paragraph break. You can do two spaces or a \ at the end of a line for a line break.

Well, now I learned the backslash method. Thanks!

The \ doesnt show reliably on all apps. Only checked two, but both failed to display it correctly

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Odd. Did you put a line break (press ↩️) after the slash?

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Yup
And this is what I get

To get a line break, I have to do two spaces after the last
character to get this result

Interesting. I see your break with the slash on Voyager and Jerboa. What client do you use that doesn't show it?

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

Sync and eternity are the two I checked

[–] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And I just checked connect, where it does show both as line breaks.

It looks like that's a good bug to report to Sync and Eternity because the slash also works on browsers.

Vote them out (if we’re still allowed to vote when that time comes). In the meantime, let them know how you feel. Letters, postcards, emails, phone calls, comments on their social media: all of these things. Be civil, be smart. But you gotta do something.

Problem being, the DNC will ensure no other viable Democrats run against them in the primary, so come the general election, we'll once again be stuck choosing between shit and radioactive shit.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 3 points 1 week ago

Don't forget protests and demonstrations. Make it very clear they're not welcome where you live.

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago

The only positive in this bill is that it didn't straight up eliminate any agencies. Otherwise there was absolutely no benefit for 99% of the American people. They are MAGA.

[–] HuntressHimbo@lemm.ee 11 points 1 week ago

Gary Peters is retiring and I guess decided that he needed to fuck us all over one last time on his way out. Turned off his phone system too. Absolute shitlord

NY here, calling my senators Monday and telling them they've lost my vote and I'll be voting for any primary challenger. I'm not continuing this sham anymore. I'll sooner not vote than tolerate this betrayal of representing my interests.
