It kind of makes sense. Everyone else there is partying with a rock star while Freddie is just in bed with a group of random guys.

I'm as gay as the next fella but that must have been some horrific smelling good times.
Minus the aids epidemic, it must have been great.

And there were people surprised to find out he was gay.
Freddy was bi. He wrote "Love of my Life" about Mary Austin.
I think its more complicated. I think he truly loved Mary - but not in a sexual way, more as a confidante and partner.
She told him that he is gay, not bisexual.
It wasn't until 1976 that Freddie told his fiancé he thought he was bisexual. Mary later said: “I’ll never forget that moment. I remember saying to him, ‘No Freddie, I don’t think you are bisexual. I think you are gay’.”
