They did use bats in ww2
Instead of making stealth planes, they could have given us food and healthcare. It's a sacrifice they are willing to take. 
But have you considered that Owls don't do bathroom renovations in northern Virginia.
Also they accept mice as payment, which is cheaper then dollars
