To be fair we are pretty angry too.

Injustice to them is seeing a woman on the cover of a game they were never going to play

[–] D61@hexbear.net 4 points 2 weeks ago

Their injustice is at the feeling that something is being taken from them, that they are losing something, every time somebody with less gain a bit more.

Well, sort of

You can see it on their faces when something bad happens to people they don't like

It's a slimy little expression

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 20 points 2 weeks ago

A very punchable, smug expression, yeah. Usually of the shit-eating grin variety

[–] Real_User@hexbear.net 15 points 2 weeks ago

Even then, I think there's a difference between joy and glee

[–] hotcouchguy@hexbear.net 13 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah I think their only happiness is when someone 'inferior' is suffering.

[–] Sinisterium@hexbear.net 32 points 2 weeks ago

They cant be. Fascism denies joy and requires a constant anxiety about the scary subhuman.

[–] imogen_underscore@hexbear.net 22 points 2 weeks ago

i think that fascists are certainly miserable unfulfilled people by and large

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 17 points 2 weeks ago

No. That's why they have to be catty and shitty and stuff, even when they get their way. Cuz they only enjoy making other people unhappy.

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 16 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Happy, maybe. Never ever content.

[–] 9to5@hexbear.net 14 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

Im not exactly happy. In fact, some things in the world even make me sad but Id say Im content, in a way. So I guess its the exact opposite for me?

Why content, you may ask? Because the downfall of the Empire seems almost inevitable to me

[–] duderium@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago

The downfall of the empire is inevitable. The only question is, how many people are they going to kill along the way?

[–] HiImThomasPynchon@hexbear.net 16 points 2 weeks ago

No, they arent happy. But instead of putting effort into figuring out why they're not happy, they choose to lay the blame on people who have nothing to do with their unhappiness.

[–] GaveUp@hexbear.net 15 points 2 weeks ago

I know quite a few because of my work and they're a mix just like liberals. Some happy, some not

If you're a fascist you can still have good friends/partners/family with other fascists/liberals and that combined with a decent enough quality of life is usually good enough to be happy

[–] hexthismess@hexbear.net 14 points 2 weeks ago

They'll never be satisfied with their oppression of the outgroup, which means they need to oppress more and more of their in group

[–] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 13 points 2 weeks ago

Happier then I am

[–] peppersky@hexbear.net 12 points 2 weeks ago

Is anyone even happy? I'm not happy

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 7 points 2 weeks ago

Yes and no.

A lifetime of always getting everything they want has led them to being pretty spoiled and they’re plenty happy about that.

Of course, it’s never good enough for them. They’re so used to always getting everything so it’s now a baseline, they want more.

[–] aeshna_cyanea@lemm.ee 6 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Maybe the true believers aren't, but there's lots of people happy to passively support it and stay out of politics, and you could probably describe them as happy. Judging from accounts of Nazi Germany at least

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They aren't and are convinced that happiness is impossible, so no one else must be allowed to be happy, either.

[–] D61@hexbear.net 2 points 2 weeks ago

opens drawer and blows the dust off this

this

no, they hate themselves and so will never be happy, no matter how much wealth they acquire or how much the zeitgeist gives them what they claim to want

[–] prole@hexbear.net 5 points 2 weeks ago

Everyone suffers under capitalism on some level. Most of us can't really escape things like alienation from our work, communities, etc. Even the billionaires are losing their humanity, though most of them don't even realize it.

[–] marxisthayaca@hexbear.net 2 points 2 weeks ago

Are communists happy?

But no, these people are miserable in ways they cannot comprehend.
