Bottle, Hamburger, Ale

B+B+B=30 B+H+H=20 H+A+A=9

B=20-2H

20-2H+20-2H+20-2H=30

60-6H=30

60-30=6H

30/6=H

H=5

B=10

5+2A=9

2A=9-5

2A=4

A=4/2

A=2

intermediate Result: H=5 B=10 A=2

(H+H-B) -> inf 0 -> inf integral of (((B sin(D))/ (A D))dD

Simplifying

0 -> inf integral of B/A (sin(D)/D)dD

It is known that 0->inf of (sin(x)/x)dx is equal to π/2 Then (10/2)(π/2)

Final Result: 5π/2

Sorry for the formatting, I don't know how to fix it

I am amazed at how convoluted your way to solve the first three equations is, but I applaud you for pulling through and solving the integral. That's where I chickened out, because I'd have had to look something up.

It's mainly the formatting and I wanted to "prove" it. It is easy to see that the bottles are 10 because 3B=30, so I was showing off. The integral I did have to look it up because I was thinking it was not converging as sin(x) never does. But then got distracted with a video of a guy doing the Feynman technique for the sin(x)/x part. So I just summarize it as "it is known..."

Did not expect so many people to solve this. I love lemmy.

[–] MsPenguinette@lemmy.world 25 points 3 days ago

I started solving it then opened the comments to start writing down my work, then saw someone else solved it so I stopped

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

I'll have a 9 to go. Thanks.

int 0->inf of (5sin(x)/xdx)

No, I will not solve it.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 26 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I was like how am I supposed to know the hotdog untill I actually read the thing. It's 5π/2.

[–] weird@sub.wetshaving.social 9 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Yeah, turns out most of these are easily solvable.

[–] Tikiporch@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

It's almost like you can replace variables like x, y, z with emoji.

Untill there is a 3 line long equation at the end

square root of -1 can suck my dick

[–] KindnessIsPunk@lemmy.ca 8 points 3 days ago

my gf is also imaginary

[–] Tikiporch@lemmy.world 20 points 3 days ago

I have no time for imaginary numbers.

[–] weird@sub.wetshaving.social 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I am struggling to solve this actually

[–] mcmodknower@programming.dev 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I also didn't solve it by myself. Once you give up, make sure to check out the solution in the source link. It's surprising.

[–] weird@sub.wetshaving.social 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

spoilerOh tumblr solution is a numeric one. I wonder if a symbolic solution can be found though.

spoilerI, like the tumblr poster in the link, got soda^i = soda+3 and I was like 'I just woke up, I'm not dealing with imaginary sodas right now'

Not quite the same, but my favorite:

a math meme: SOLVE CAREFULLY... 25 - 55 + (85 + 65) = YOU PROBABLY WON'T BELIEVE IT, BUT THIS EQUALS 5!

[–] TonyTonyChopper@mander.xyz 4 points 2 days ago

reddit would call this an unexpected factorial
