Need help finding a band (hexbear.net)

I was listening to Wait a Minute! by Willow and the first 30 seconds really reminds me of something I can't quite put my finger on. It was I think a British indie rock band I was listening to briefly like 15 years ago, with a similar staccato/kind of whiny and melancholic vocal style but with a dude singer.

If anyone has any idea what I'm thinking of I'd appreciate help this is driving me crazy, I've looked through my list of 1k+ saved artists two times now and nothing stands out.

Definitely not it, but a good shout I added to the playlist.

I am certain it was a dude with a very similar vocal style used in that Willow song bit.
