I only learned recently that New York can get over 100 degrees in the summer pretty consistently. And now you're telling me one of the parts of the country known for being hot has never actually reached that temperature?! That country is just nonsense, is the US even a real place?

Humidity is the big difference. Florida is consistently 80-90%, whereas the NE can get there but much more frequently around 50%. It's a huge difference in how it feels

Plus parts of FL get like that just about year round, whereas heat waves, which only last a few days, are what get the NE that warm.

There's also ocean right by Tampa which provides a relatively cooling breeze (but increases humidity)
