That sounds kinda violent. They should have voted him out if they didn’t like his policies.

At least send a strong letter of condemnation as a warning! How inhumane to judge a person's actions without understanding their motives! Decorum!

I swear to god if i ever get 40 yards from Mussolini I’m going to vote him out of office

[–] Jerkface@lemmy.world 21 points 10 months ago

Did they try just giving him what he wants? Maybe that would chill him out.

Fascists are not invincible, nor unstoppable.

There will be no Superman to safe you. No Wonderwoman will fly from the sky and the regime will not be hit by a Flash.

The only thing that can save you is you rising up and others to do too. Waiting for someone else to start will not work and true heroes don't have to look like models, nor do they have to be the charismatic or articulate.

Recognize good people by their virtues and sincerity and follow their example.

I take it the clothing was hued blue because guessing chroma by grayscale alone is dicey at best...

After the allies had defeated Italy. It's not as if a popular movement had risen and defeated the fascists.

[–] cabbage@piefed.social 20 points 10 months ago

A popular movement had risen, with help from international allies. There were always partisans, they didn't suddenly appear when help arrived.

Similarly, the fascists were also helped by their own allies. The conflicts internally in countries did not happen in a vacuum.
