Ever had a really shitty bit idea? Joke you want to take way past the point of where it was funny? Want to feel like a stand-up comedy guy who's been bombing a set for the past 30 minutes straight and at this point is just saying shit to see if people react to it? Really bad pun? A homemade cringe concoction? A cognitohazard that you have birthed into this world and have an urge to spread like chain mail?

I hate how Hoxhaists never leave their basements. just because it is partly underground and has concrete walls does not make it a bunker. (hexbear.net)

Your entrance is a hollow door with no way to lock from the inside, you have windows above ground level and they aren't even barred. Someone could breach your "bunker" with a pickaxe and the only thing covering you from above are two floors of 2x6's, plywood, and sheet rock. If you aren't encased in at least two feet of rebar reinforced concrete on all sides with a two stage steel blast door entrance it's not a real bunker.

I think the earth around your basement would do a lot for defense though. Like artillery shells would have to hit you sideways at the bit of basement above ground to cause any damage.

On the other hand, if the house above you gets hit the debris could collapse right on top of you. Or block you in. Or get set on fire and fill your shelter with smoke. Or not provide any meaningful protection at all and just let the round penetrate right through until it explodes in your cement-lined tomb.
