Are they Chimeric? I've never seen such a clear division between tuxedo and tortoiseshell patterns like that.

Assuming it's real, I think it would have to be as chimera. I don't even think an extra chromosome would explain this. I'm oversimplifying a little, but the genetics when it comes to the black/brown coloration is either "tabby" or "not tabby", and "tabby" is dominant, so as long as it received one copy of "tabby", every part of the coat that isn't white should be tabby.

The blue eyes are even weirder, and make me lean towards calling it fake. It is quite well done though, if it is fake.

Edit: found a post, looks pretty damn real. Any insight on the blue eyes?

The vet classified him as a Minuet

Huh... WTF is a Minuet?

The Minuet (also known as the Napoleon) is a hybrid mix of Persian and Munchkin cat breeds.

Oh WTF???!!!

So it's a cross between two breeds that, ethically, I really don't think should even exist. I'd have to dig a bit, but I'd be shocked if there's not breeders specifically breeding both of those for blue eyes, so it sadly almost makes more sense now.

[–] Slowy@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

Yeah, not great. Luckily it looks like the cross turns out to have a normal muzzle at least, and I think most munchkins do okay. Pure persians and Scottish folds are the real crime in my opinion, poor Scottish folds, horrible joint problems just because humans must have slightly bent ears :(

All of the Energy, none of the thoughts probably

[–] elephantium@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Absolutely adorable! I know a cat that's mostly white but his tail is all stripy. So I always ask him who'd he switch tails with and wiggle his tail about.

[–] UnrepententProcrastinator@lemmy.ca 15 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Thank god this isn't Reddit where we'd learn how that cat has a rare sickness and only a few months to live.

[–] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yes, on Lemmy it can have a nice, stress free life. until cancer strikes unexpectedly to the throat. With a knife.

Just time your parry.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 3 points 3 months ago

On Lemmy we just point out his very troubling social media presence.

[–] Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I would name that cat frank in a second.

[–] elephantium@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

I LOVE FRANK!

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 8 points 3 months ago

This is what happens when you try to pull out, but you're not fast enough.

[–] curiousaur@reddthat.com 7 points 3 months ago (3 children)

It's got one headlight on the left, and two on the right.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 6 points 3 months ago

It does the hokey pokey, and whiskers all about.

[–] notabot@piefed.social 4 points 3 months ago

But when we pulled out the switch, all three of 'em come on.

[–] faythofdragons@slrpnk.net 1 points 3 months ago

Went right up to the factory and picked it up, it's cheaper that way.

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 6 points 3 months ago
