According to Anita Gelato

I thought somehow this was somebody's very relevant name ahaha

Is Anita an Italian who escaped into our reality from a J K Rowling novel?

Edit: It turns out that it's not her real name, just her blog.

Anita Gelato is unfortunately “Israeli”

I guess it’s possible to milkshake duck an ice cream company

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 2 points 5 months ago

That explains the treatlerism

Stopped by for the same reason. Nominal determinism or whatever strikes again

[–] Krem@hexbear.net 20 points 5 months ago (1 children)

28 liters per year? one pint per week? on average? so for every normal person that eats much less than that, there is one person that eats more than double that. eating two scoops of ice cream every other day.

abolish dairy

[–] musicpostingonly@hexbear.net 15 points 5 months ago (1 children)

when you see your comrade fall you pick up his ice cream scoops and continue on

[–] Blakey@hexbear.net 12 points 5 months ago

In bad country one man gets the tub and the other gets the scoop. yeonmi-park

Cookieman (cookies and cream)

New Zealand isn't real.

Land of weird birds and ice cream

[–] ClassIsOver@hexbear.net 1 points 5 months ago

Yeah, but their eggs are delicious once you peel them.

[–] 9to5@hexbear.net 5 points 5 months ago

True. Its the place the hobbits and the moomins live

[–] GenderIsOpSec@hexbear.net 11 points 5 months ago (2 children)

dunno how accurate this is but:

1st is New Zealand with 28,4L/yr

2nd is USA with 20,8L/yr

3rd is Australia with 18L/yr

4th is Finland with 14,2L/yr

5th is Sweden with 12L/yr

that's per person

it is missing like 90% of the world though

[–] musicpostingonly@hexbear.net 11 points 5 months ago

8 liters difference between the Kiwis and the US.

American exceptionalism my ass

These are the most treatlerite nations on the planet.

Oh man this brings me back to 2015, the year I spent in Dunedin... grabbing a cone of hokey pokey at Rob Roy Dairy and then going to the Octagon... I have incredibly fond memories of Aotearoa and the wonderful ice cream you could have for very cheap is definitely part of what made it special.

Truly the least bad Western country in the world.

Ice cream: the great equalizer

[–] ClassIsOver@hexbear.net 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

...aside from the whole colonization and attempted genocide of one of the coolest native populations in the world, sure.

[–] joaomarrom@hexbear.net 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Oh, absolutely, there's some really dark history out there. What I mean is that it's one of the better places to live right now. No wonder billionaires want to build their bunkers next to Hobbit homes.

[–] ClassIsOver@hexbear.net 2 points 5 months ago

Makes sense, I'd move there if I could. I love going through Google Maps and one in every five locations is a filming location for LOTR.

Roasted peanut ice cream would be yum ngl

[–] Krem@hexbear.net 4 points 5 months ago

there's a kind of traditional sorbet in taiwan made from peanuts and kidney bean that's pretty good. also it's :im-vegan:

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 10 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Vegan ice cream was too expensive, so I've transitioned to mashing peanut butter into frozen fruit with a splash of soy milk and a spoonful of sugar. Actually really good!

[–] spudnik@hexbear.net 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

That sounds really good, I would never have thought of that in a million years. The vegan ice cream replacement I've done is blended frozen bananas, which isn't bad but takes a bit of time and kitchen space that I'm too lazy to commit to

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 2 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

I find that room temp peanut butter melts the fruit juuuust enough to make it smooshable, then the soy milk thins the mixture out a bit so the peanut butter isn't over powering.

I use frozen blueberries or mixed berries, but bananas are also good.
