You know, the whole "weaponization of justice" thing that Trump has done over two terms now.
Maybe, they're testing if their base will defend them if they go full fascists. They've been subtly saying things that led to rise of the fascists for a while now. And their base remains intact.
They're waiting for the cult to approve something even more harsh so that somehow 2nd mendment will be relevant again. But it won't be used against the authoritarians.

I wish it were true. These heinous assholes have evaded consequences through pardons, commutations or straight up not being prosecuted bc of libs not wanting to come off as partisan.
