That’s mushroom she has some amazing expressions… she was dumped by some one along with her brother truffle at a local Tavern and the tavern was gonna keep her around, but then she started jumping on the tables eating people’s food. once she put her face in a customer’s milkshake it was the last straw and that Tavern asked my friend who does fostering and rehoming if they could take her. My friend asked me because she didn’t have enough space and now mushroom is a permanent resident . The meows that come from her when ever the fridge is open are hilarious.

Oh Mushroom 🍄 what a baby.

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 36 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

One of my favourite pictures of her

“You’re adopted”

“Wow.”

“Mushroom” has been banked by me for my next grey cat for a while now, perfect cat name just waiting for the right coat.

[–] BurntWits@sh.itjust.works 6 points 3 weeks ago

I love the name. I’m definitely keeping it in mind for a future cat. Two cats is enough for me for now, though. But maybe one day.

Dude, you need to be more careful about leaving the outside door open. Somehow a couch got into your house. :-)

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 18 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Im sick right now and this looks so damn comfy, would love to be covered in warm cats and a blanket just watching TV

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 30 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Me currently..the cats are the blanket 😂 Hope you feel better soon

[–] KittenBiscuits@lemmy.today 6 points 3 weeks ago

This looks heavenly.

Until I feel a sneeze coming on.

Where's ~~Waldo~~ @Whitecat@lemmy.zip 😻

[–] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 16 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Clearly couch is for cat, yes? Not for silly human, made for cat!

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 weeks ago

It seems so 😂

[–] Sergio@piefed.social 11 points 3 weeks ago

Pull the couch out from the wall a couple inches and lay a blanket up there and I bet you could fit a couple more cats.

[–] celeste@kbin.earth 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Are most of them from the same litter, or do you just really love stripey guys?

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 11 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I do love tabbies my first cat nolee who lives with my ex in Canada is 18 now and is a tabby so I have weakness 😂 they are from 6 different litters all rescued from around Corfu in greece

[–] frizzo@piefed.social 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Definitely some more room for a few more cats!

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 16 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

There was actually one cat behind the blanket as well where the black-and-white cat is sitting on the floor. But yeah, there’s six more cats somewhere around the house that could fit there.

This picture is from today 3 of the 6 not in the original post lounging

Lmfao trust me if I could afford it I would.. I’ll probably still end up with some more during kitten season 🥹 It’s 240€ a month for flea and tick treatment for the 16 I have and 48€ a month for dewormer alone 🫠

[–] dublet@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It’s 240€ a month for flea and tick treatment for the 16

€15/month/cat on flea and tick? That seems expensive?

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Strong hold plus is what the treatment is! And it is expensive when you have 16 cats, but there’s a lot of ticks so it’s not something I can skip out on.

[–] dublet@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Interesting.

In the UK, I can purchase this easily for 6x pippetes for £27.49 ~= €30.79 = €5.17/month/cat, or €82.67 for 16 cats.

A Dutch website suggests the RRP for 6 pippetes is around €39. You should shop around a bit, or reach out to different vets.

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

There aren’t many vets here. BUT I bet it is cheaper in the Uk, a lot of returning tourist will bring care packages of things from the UK because it’s more affordable than purchasing here. I’ve always chalked that up to it being an island. Even electronics like iPhone 16 and I bought it for like €980 were in Canada would’ve been like 1300 cad.

[–] tehn00bi@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Is it a full time job cleaning the liter box?

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago

It is.. but they also go outside too so I think it could be worse. There’s eight litter boxes around the house inside and then one giant litter box outside 😂

[–] UntouchedWagons@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 weeks ago

Wow that is a lot of cats.

[–] VinnyDaCat@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

I do this quite often with my void. He loves to stretch himself out and take two thirds of my desk chair. I just deal with it by taking up the remaining space and sharing it with him.

[–] Jimbo@pawb.social 5 points 3 weeks ago

Damn now I wanna sit on that couch, must be comfortable

[–] Kyrgizion@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

Jelly! Wish I had a whole destruction at home like you do.

[–] ryannathans@aussie.zone 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

How many kitty litters do you have

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I’ve rescued from 6 different litters

[–] ryannathans@aussie.zone 7 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

That's wild, I meant the places they shit though

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

The good thing is, it’s like a huge kind of village area so it’s like really forest area so most of the time they shit outside because cats are actually pretty clean creatures and don’t like to smell their own poop thank goodness for natures giant litter box below

Edit; to answer the original question too; 8 boxes around the house

[–] LiveLM@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Man, how do you deal with hair shedding? I only have 1 and I feel there's hair everywhere even after cleaning 🥲

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 weeks ago

Lots of vacuuming and brushing; they all are actually fairly shorthaired too so they don’t shed that much, which is nice. I also have a dry shampoo from my vet that I use on them :)

[–] fritobugger2017@lemmy.world -2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That house must smell awful.

[–] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 weeks ago

It’s called cleaning… you should try it sometime, probably starting by with cleaning up your attitude first
