Celebrating our 20th this weekend in the city.
Fancy hotel, nice restaurant, drinks at bar.
We gonna tear it up.....as long it sensible to get in on the breakfast at the hotel
But seriously, we love acting stupid and harmless in public.

Congrats and have an excellent weekend!!
Released the 2nd single off my upcoming album today :) This is the music vid, featuring clips from a Europe trip earlier in the year. Hope you enjoy! https://youtu.be/XWzt0QLNFiM
I really liked that! It looks like your trip to Europe was really special too
Successfully put holes in the wall. Pinboards hung. Too many years as a renter makes it so hard to believe I can just hang stuff.
Guess what? You can put in network cabling
Actually this apartment actually has MULTIPLE Ethernet ports. That and the dishwasher were the first things I noticed in the inspection!
Resident magpie has turned into a no fucks given thief. Stole my toast.
I'll forgive her as she's taking out the resident mudlarks (which are very hard to get out of the house when they get in).
But I think the oddest thing (and I might be imagining things) is that she understands the concept of 'inside' is a no go zone. She's come in a few times but it seems like she respects the boundary and just hangs outside the open door.
The few times she has come inside she'll just waddle out no stress involved. Never chased her out of the house, she just casually follows.
She's a sneaky one food-wise but I swear they know difference (b/w inside and outside) which is pretty wild to think about. Very opportunistic creatures but with self imposed limits.
Top of the mornin' to ya!
G'day
And the rest of the day to your self
The dog's outside barking at the thunder. He's not coming back in until it's over. You might think that's cruel, it's not. What's cruel is him startling me with his barking two feet away from my ear.
Client event attended, I did not know a soul and felt super awkward at the beginning but had good chats with a few people there. It pays to put yourself out of your comfort zone. Back to hotel to shower this disgusting humidity off me.
Can you hear, can you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover.
This morning I have rolled out of bed and Boyo has bad dream punched himself in the dick. Probably best stay away from power tools.
I am finding the industrial/construction noises particularly annoying tonight
Blurgh. Pizza was tasty but because I've been eating super healthy it's fucked with my mood today.
Hopefully gym makes things easier.
Edit: gym was a fucking great idea.
After raining just enough to make my washing wet again it's cleared up into sun and blue skies. π€·ββοΈ
I've spent a productive morning in the kitchen. A couple of loaves of bread in progress. I've done the sauce to go with the fish curry, made a salad/raita and put the rice on timer so I just need to take a few minutes to cook the fish and add the sauce for dinner (and there are 7 more serves in the freezer ready for future me too). I've also made lunch, breakfast and snacks for the next two days at work .
After lunch it will be planting time, the plan is to get all the tomatoes and beans planted. Then I can come inside for a shower and rest on my laurels for the rest of the day.
Alright.
Work Xmas thing is starting at 7pm. Clothes are sorted, various cats will be fed shortly.
I reaaaaaaaalllllyyyyyy dont want to go but it is what it is.
Do the meet and greet and then skedaddle.
This is the way. Make sure the managers see you, wish them merry Christmas and be on your way.
I forgot to bring in the washing from the line yesterday. I got up and it was bright blue and sunshine, I thought "I'll be able to walk the dog and then bring the washing in before any rain gets here". No. I didn't even get dressed before the rain started. Now I have slightly damp washing, not much but just enough I need to hang things out so they don't go musty.
At least the tomatoes will enjoy being planted in this weather.
Operation UnKAOS doing well, am adding a day and a new task, Sunday is organise the upcoming week day
the past two weeks my diet has been going well, 85% of the days I eat a good diet , the other days I have a small lapse, like the small pack of gummy bears I had yesterday , but still doing ok π I don't calorie count, just give a green tick, red tick or a mixed tick on a calendar
storm, thunder, rain π
Fish curry was a success. I was a bit worried the sauce was missing something, but once cooked with the fish & marinade ingredients it was perfect.
nice day to go into the city/brunnie
will look for some vintage LPs π
later guys π
Magpie sees cat
That was weird. There was a magpie sitting on the fence just chilling and watching me for ages. I didnβt make any wrong moves so it kind of relaxed and turned its back to me, had a sing, had a scratch.
Then Melbcat wandered out of her spot under some plants and it was paying a lot of attention. But not flying away? I told the bird it was fine, she couldnβt see it, be cool. I turned around acting like the situation was fine, and Melbcat already laid down in another spot. It sat there for a little while watching us before flying off the fence and I heard it singing next door.
She probably would have got swooped if alone though. Hopefully my presence vouches for her but if the magpie hurtles down I might regretfully have to umbrella it
A little bit of dry cat biscuits are apparently OK for maggies if not repeated too often. Feeding them - they recognize people's faces as individuals so getting friendly is a good thing imo. Prevents swooping.
Also, once the stawm hits, today is not going to be a good foraging day for the maggies, so a bit of extra food will cement a friendly relationship with no swooping.
Not all magpies swoop, and those that do only do it during nesting season, which is over now. Befriend your Magpie, they are awesome birds.
Itβs time to put the air con on. First time this summer.
Went to the garden shop this morning, bought some flower seedlings and strawberry plants. Will plant them out later this afternoon when itβs not too hot.
ugh . Was gonna fit together the corten and prep the area where it's gonna sit.
them remembered I'm gonna inset it in ground, and ughhh out comes the sander pull of the surface rust now I clean and dry them and now I crommelin them and god damn humidity extends curing times means what shoulda been three of them done on a fine day is one done and I'll do another one tomorrow and another one on Monday and then wait a week before putting the fuckers in so it's got time to fully cure.
Oooh storms INCOMING from the west. Woke up from my nap in time to close the windows at least. Now next job is some washing and chopping of framers market haul and then to stop second guessing about where to hang the pinboard and just do it.
Last night Melbcat petitioned to go outside. Not a chance, not at night.
But sheβs not going to let me walk this back. 30 minute timer got put on and if Iβm not up to any longer we go back inside.
big ass spider in the shower
in bathroom, getting ready, look in shower, what are those black things poking out from under the plastic shower mat. Too thick to be some of my hair, and there is no way threads could be there. I have an inkling, lift mat from other edge, legs, big ass spider hiding under there. He tries to escape but down the drain he goes, I feel a little a guilty. It was a nasty looking one.
Eeep. Made myself a cup of tea this morning, but the cup was full of floating ants. Checked the sugar - nothing. Checked the tea leaves - nothing. Emptied out the kettle and it was FULL of ants looking for water. Who knew this was a thing until now? Not me. So now I'm emptying the kettle after each use and leaving it upside down between uses.
My sister had ants in her Nespresso machine. They cleaned the machine out twice and still had more ants in it. They ended up throwing it out and buying a new one. At least a kettle doesn't have any hidden internal workings for them to be hiding it so you should be confident the next cup will be ant free.
Huntsmans get a free pass from me this year.
So many bugs down here this year (which is good). Just not in the house. Leaving it to the experts.
not a huntsman, a nasty black one
Gessoβd two canvases. Two more layers to go and then Iβll leave them until I think of something. But this dumbarse technique of mine may get more elaborate.
spoiler
Because Iβve remembered that water based gesso can be tinted with acrylic paint for a toned ground rather than onerously grinding it in, acrylics can be used for quick dry underpainting before putting oils over the top, and gesso can possibly be used in place of Magic White.
So start out with my already modified acrylic wet on wet for the base to get that blended Bob Ross perspective fade and block out some areas, let it dry, and then add in the details with either acrylics or oils (for better texture or to cover any streakiness)?
It would certainly make producing paintings faster. And neither added linseed oil or solvent enters the picture at any point so it is safer fumes wise for people who donβt have a separate workspace and/or have kids or pets.
When something becomes workable Iβll call it βmixed mediaβ and claim itβs a βMasterclassβ that allows you to learn multiple techniques in one course. Then sell classes to rich people on Class Bento /s
Ooh yay that's a start!!
Not much storm here. One distant rumble and a brief shower, then back to blue skies again. Looking at the radar it mostly started north and east of Ballarat, with Werribee area across to Melton getting most of the worst of it so far.
At a party. They started playing never have I ever. Sister drunk to some things that I didn't expect. I have deduced that she might have a crush on the co-worker she always talks about. He is ten years older.
Edit: 13 years older and she is more or less at a formative age. I am meant to be the stupid twin
That game is a doozy!! Gotta be sober enough to know when to lie!
